Things were great overall! I liked the room, the size of it and how clean things were. Everything seemed quite new and well looked after. The view we had was of a building next door, so not great... that said, we didn't pay extra to have the nicer view, so that's expected. I would most likely stay here again in the future... though the below has me thinking twice.
The only challenge we had was when checking in. They asked to see ID and my physical credit card. ID was shown on my phone with no issues, but they were not happy I didn't bring my physical credit card. Most places put a hold charge on your credit card, in which case using Google/Apple Pay works perfectly fine, but they physically wanted to site and write down the numbers (which is not okay, inputting my actual card numbers into the computer which has goodness knows what security!). Luckily (or not so luckily?) my partner happened to have her card with her (which is rare, she never carries her wallet around either) and we used that.
This hotel needs to realise we live in 2022 and people don't carry wallets anymore. Wallets are not safe or secure, and writing down people's credit card numbers is not okay either. Put a hold charge on my card like every other hotel, that way I can use Google Pay which encrypts my card details and keeps my data secure!
Sincerely, someone living in the 21st century.
