"The hotel is in a great area and convenient and comfortable. The laundry is very good quality Miele machines and the gym is good Breakfast is solid with good options The room layout is poor as our beds are immediately next to the door so it was noisy at night listening to people in the corridors, could be laid out better. The aircon was average at best and it struggled with the hot English days. I had a package delivered to me to reception and no one notified me. Despite it being delivered in my name and my room number staff just shoved it in a cupboard and forgot about it. Luckily I asked on the last night if anything had been delivered and they went out back and brought out the package, with a post it note with my name and room number on it!!"

"No significant issues. Rooms were clean and tidy, and there were facilities for drinks etc. (although only four tiny pots of milk for four tea bags and four coffee sachets - why do they always do that?). The staff we dealt with were friendly and at pains to make sure we had everything we needed, both on the phone and at the front door on arrival. Helpful with sending us to a fantastic pizza restaurant for dinner too. One TV remote was missing from one room. There was a challenge with leaving ID overnight because we were leaving before Reception opened, and there needed to be a security against door keys - it seemed like no-one had ever had to leave before reception opened before. The showers were not overly powerful."

"The lady at the reception desk (Ripa was her name I think) was welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast but as a coeliac I was disappointed that my breakfast options were less varied than for others. The sausages and hash browns were not gluten free (both items are available gluten free in supermarkets, so why can't the hotel serve them to guests if requested). There were no gluten free pastries/cakes either. The croissants on display (not gluten free) were the small ones that you can buy from the supermarket, like in a bag of eight or so. They looked squashed and not so appetising to my companions who are not coeliac. So, the breakfast was a bit disappointing. I have stayed at other hotel chains and some (such as Premier Inn) will take your order and cook it separately so that there is no cross-contamination from the buffet breakfast. All items on the buffet have been available gluten free. That is the level of service that someone with coeliac disease should be getting. Sorry Copthorne Tara, you could and should do better by your customers."

"The location is top notch, really easy to te t around. Next to the Natural History and Victoria & Albert museums, short walk to Hyde Park, and well connected to public transportation especially to/from Heathrow (picadilly line). The hotel is dated, and during my stay London was in the middle of a heat wave with temperatures ranging from 80 to 100 throughout the day. On my first night, the AC in my room was not working and the staff said that the hotel was fully booked and they would move me to a different room the next day. I had a rough night, needless to say. However, the AC in the second room was working fine! Other guests had the same issue with their rooms and they were given portable fans since there were no rooms available."

"Room was lovely with windows that could be opened letting in the much needed breeze during this heatwave! Staff were friendly letting us leave our luggage in the office before 3pm booking in. Thank you for allowing us to enter our room an hour earlier without charge. The little fridge was a fantastic surprise ( a very good idea that most hotels don’t consider) Another good reason we picked Sapphire is the availability of twin rooms so friends and relatives can have one room and share the cost, rather than the inconvenience of sharing a double bed. My Cousin and I will definitely be staying again on our next excursion to London. Superb location as SB has everything to offer with friendliness. Thank you team Sapphire from Karen and Kelly 👍"
