The backyard added a special feeling of relaxation after walking the busy it’s center. The plumbing had some noise, but was working.

We enjoyed our stay in one of the apartments. Not modern but still nice. I had been raining so we didn’t get to enjoy the backyard. Staff was very helpful.

I took off one star bc the property has very poor WiFi. Most days our phones and Netflix did not connect. All the staff is very friendly and kind. I liked the location and would say this is about 10-20mins walk from restaurants and attractions. There is def other restaurants near the hotel where locals went.

Hotel was down town in a nice area walkable to all attractions, convenience store two doors down, had a nice outdoor pool that was always locked up, had to ask the front seat to open it up, people like to sit around pools even if they don’t want to go in. Don’t book a low grade room, you get what you pay for, I had to pay to upgrade my room.

This is a lovely place to stay, a short walk to the sights of historic Florence but away from the tourist crowds and traffic. Well-equipped, luxurious room with modern bath and very comfortable bed. A very good standard European breakfast offer with a decent espresso machine. The staff here go out of their way to be helpful.

Definitely not worth the price. The property is quite old and fairly run down, and they nickel and dime you by charging you to even use the pool. For the cost I'd expect a lot more.

This is a gorgeous old hotel that is a stone's throw from a local park and about a 15-minute walk from the train station. Our room was spacious and clean, and our bed was very comfortable. There was a large breakfast selection each morning that could be eaten in the hotel's conservatory or outside in the garden. We stayed at the hotel for five nights and had a very enjoyable experience. The staff were also very friendly and professional. We recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel in Florence
I was in Florence on business and needed a reasonably priced hotel that was not far from the city center. This hotel fit my needs perfectly. The hotel was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, the breakfast was very nice, and the staff were superb. I would stay here, again, and plan to on my next business trip to Florence.

Surprised at a fee for the pool…should’ve checked the small print that said did not detract from the stay Hotel very clean staff were excellent it was a haven in a city of madness! Florence is very busy which is understandable as there’s lots to see

This is not a 4-star hotel, not even 3-star. Don’t have the simplest facilities. No kettle, no water dispenser to dispense hot water, aircon remote screen is not visible, bed design is not flushed to wall, leaving a big gap! Room is not soundproof, and very very noisy! 4-star hotel and need to pay city tax Is ridiculous

Dear Sir,Thank you for your review, the kettle is present in the superior double rooms, you have booked a classic single room and the water dispenser is present at the bar.For the bed, it is a personal opinion , many customers like very much, the pannel of aircon is very visible on the wall, however it was enough to ask at reception. Villa of 1700 it is not possible to soundproof the rooms.

The property was lovely. The staff was nice. However problems with the air conditioning. You are unable to control the temperature in your room and have to call reception to adjust. I booked 2 rooms at this hotel. One room was either too hot or too cold. The other room was extremely cold where the staff had to bring a heating fan upstairs as they awaited a technician to fix. There was no iron available, if you want to iron they have to call a private laundry service. No complimentary water or cream either. One room was beautiful and quaint with an amazing view. The other was not very pretty however it was clean.

Beautiful and spacious
This hotel is lovely. Very open, clean, and comfortable. The Large bathroom with jacuzzi tub was so nice after walking the city for hours each day. The beds were comfortable and the service was great. Breakfast was included and was a large variety of food from cereal, croissants, and toast to scrambled eggs and pancakes. The pool is nice, albeit cold. The grounds are beautiful as well.

I really enjoyed staying at Villa Royal, it was clean and staff were friendly. However, at night you could hear the room next to you and it could become very loud, making it hard to sleep.

We had no one to give us our key at 10:30 at night, came home to a 90 degree room and air con that was controlled by the front desk, ants in our suitcases, hot water that took 15 mins to come through in the sink and shower and no baggage racks.
