"The cheap price was the main reason we chose to stay at the Grand Oaks, although I don't know if I would've booked there, had I known it's on the same property as the old (haunted) asylum. My husband thought it was hilarious, and I, admittedly was a little scared at first but the room was cozy, so felt safe inside. The room was tiny but big enough for us and we could unfortunately hear every single noise our neighbours made, including some serious snoring, throughout the night. Overall the Oaks was reasonable for the price and would probably stay again, I wouldn't pay a cent further though, and the beds could do with proper fitted sheets and doona cover instead of flat sheet coverings."

"Our recent experience at this property was disappointing. We booked a 3-night stay but unfortunately had to cut it short to just 1 night due to wild weather. While the weather was out of anyone’s control, the lack of functional indoor amenities made staying inside incredibly difficult. The listing specifies a kitchen, but there is no stove provided. Because we manage specific dietary conditions, we rely on being able to cook our own food before heading out. Discovering there was no way to actually cook was a major setback for us. Additionally, because the weather kept us indoors, we needed to rely on the TV to keep the kids entertained. Unfortunately, the television is incredibly outdated. It was impossible to connect to Netflix, YouTube, or even setup our PlayStation, leaving the kids completely bored and restless the entire time. If you require standard modern amenities or actually need to cook during your stay, I would recommend looking elsewhere."
