It’s comfortable, safe and clean. it’s small room. In room has microwave and few utensils. The room is excellent. It’s surrounding by 3 pubs, so it’s loud noise at night but they gave the earplug for us, it’s helpful😊.

Honest review
The overall room was lovely and cozy. However, the room was very noisy during the night and early evening from exterior of the property. Although we were provided with earplugs which added to the good quality of facilities.

Perfect urban jungle base
Blok-74 was an ideal weekend stay for us. The hotel itself is just off the seafront and within walking distance of everywhere you’d be likely to go in Brighton. Self check in was easy, our code was texted over the day before along with our welcome pack. The room itself was great. It was a perfect base for what we had planned for the weekend. The decor was lush, to the point my partner now wants to decorate our house the same 😂 Bathroom was clean and the addition of a microwave and fridge was actually really helpful! It is next to a couple of bars and we were provided ear plugs but honestly we didn’t need them. Our only small gripe was that the WiFi wasn’t great. Ended up just using our data but nevermind! We would happily come back again, thank-you for having us 😊

My daughter and I brought her Three children of 16, 13 and 10 for an overnight stay to explore Brighton. The property was quirky and plenty big enough for the five of us. The girls loved it and all was going well until the fire alarm went off at around 1 o’clock. We went outside with the other guests, when the security people arrived they were not in the least bit friendly, our girls were quite frightened, especially as there was a fight going on at the opposite club. They seemed very grumpy and put out that had to come and sort it out, although I’m sure it’s their job. We felt they could have offered more reassurance that everything was ok especially as we had children with us.

not the best, not the worst serves a purpose but is fairly underwhelming. not the hotel's fault but the car park they recommend ends up costing 40 quid for a night.

Good location and facilities. Clean en-suite and bedroom. Hairdryer and iron provided. Basic microwave facilities if needed. Stayed in room 4 which was downstairs at the back. Check in process easy. Hotel in central location but was noisy on 2 of the nights due to a bar/club over the road and then building works early in the morning. Earplugs provided. I managed to sleep with some difficulty but think most people would struggle with noise levels. Understand that this is out of the hotels control although better soundproofing is needed. Main issue was Wi-Fi. It didn’t work in the room. I let staff know on the first night when I checked in and was told that they’d never had any issues with the Wi-Fi. They said that they’d send someone to have a look the next day. When i chased this up they had only checked it worked in the hallway. It worked briefly when I was right next to the room door but otherwise cut out or was out of range. I had to use my data during my stay. I was disappointed that the issue wasn’t properly looked into when it was reported. To clarify, it didn’t work on two devices so I am confident that the Wi-Fi was the issue.

I'm sorry to hear you had issues with the WIFI during your stay. The router covers both rooms at the end of the hallway and it was in good working order at the time. I'm very sorry that we were unable to resolve the connection to both of your devices. It is very usual for us to experience any issues with the WIFI.

Great central location, moments from the seafront. Could have done with a sponge for washing up, a toaster in the kitchenette and there is a whiff of drains in the basement 5 bed room. But good value for the area and we had a great stay.

Great concept, easy check in process and good communication ahead of our stay. Lovely PDF guide of the area sent to us before we arrived. The room itself was very small but adequate for a one night stay. Unfortunately, the floors had clearly not been cleaned properly, dirt and stains all over the carpeted floor, as well as stains on the shower walls. Rubbish bins were dusty and grimy. Really disappointing, as the concept is great but cleanliness is clearly an issue. Location is great (a bit loud at night with pubs and bars right outside) and close to the beach. I won’t be returning here as I think it’s not worth the money spent and maintenance needs to be improved.

This was my second stay and I think even since February, Blok is starting to look a little tired. My husband and I stayed during a warm spell and even though we slept with the window open, there was literally not an air and no fan in the room.

I would have rate it as excellent however the lack of windows sometimes makes it claustrophobic. It took as a while to open the door because it was stiff, however the matters had been resolve immediately. My children enjoyed their room!

The bed was comfortable and the room was a reasonable size. The access via a code was good as it means not needing to remember a key/ card. However the front door was a little iffy to open but this was rectified quickly by the attendance of a locksmith.

Good central location and nice room. Very thin walls, we were right by the front door and could hear every single person go in an out. Also there’s a club across the road that stays open to 3am on a Saturday night which is loud. Maybe get a soft close on the front door and let people know about the club when booking. Apart from that it’s a cool place.

The property worked for us but despite it being relatively clean it didn’t feel clean. Shower was amazing but I was shocked that the space was legal as there was only one way in and out of the room - eg no window.

Thank you for your review. I can assure you that we take health and safety very seriously and have complied with all building regulation requirements. The only room which does not have a window or additional door is our suite which is situated on the lower ground floor and has a fresh air circulation system installed.

I had stayed here before, but at the rear of the house. The only issue was as the room was on the ground floor opening the window was a security issue as there was some sort of parking area directly behind Blok-74 & the sash windows have no security fittings & can be opened fully. The second most recent visit was awful. Room 9 is on the 3rd floor at the front of the house. It is in poor decorative order especially in the bathroom where paint is peeling from the ceiling & there is a huge crack running down the wall behind the toilet. I stupidly replied to a text from the remote staff that the room was OK as we had just popped in before bringing our luggage in. This proved to be difficult as the stairs are narrow and steep & the landings small. The ground floor bannister is also broken & for some reason has a j-cloth taped around it. I then noticed the ear plugs & alarm bells started to ring, excuse the pun. It turned out that from around 10pm to 3am there is a seedy jazz club & hotel across the road that plays music loudly & the customers shout & scream over it. In addition other guests are noisy & those above us decided to crash about until the left at around 4am, bouncing their luggage down every step and around each wall. The area around Blok-74 attracts people who abandon cars on the pavement & as it is very close to The Lanes lots of drunks stagger up & down it, casually throwing up & leaving all sorts of rubbish all over the place. I will not be returning.

Small but adequate
Very small room but had all we needed for an overnight stay. Not so sure if someone was staying for more than two nights but that was just our room. It was at the top of the house which we had not been told about with several steep and small flights of stairs which for someone who has an issue with mobility will struggle with. Especially as the handrail is too low! Plenary of tea, coffee etc and an added bonus of a fridge. Shower good and plenty of hot water. Good stay overall.
