"What a great stay! The hosts were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy including picking us up and dropping us back at the train station. The apartment itself is beautiful and has everything you could need to be comfortable. We wish we had added another day to our trip just to stay in the apartment and look out over the vineyards. Hannelore pointed out a good restaurant just up the road for us to have dinner and a bakery for breakfast, both of which were amazing....

"Wir haben einige schöne Tage in Mastershausen verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die geräumige Ferienwohnung liegt sehr ruhig und ist sehr gut als Ausgangspunkt für viele Wanderungen geeignet. Schade, dass es im Dörfchen mittlerweile noch nicht mehr eine Bäckerei gibt."

"This VRBO was in the perfect location for our first leg of our visit to Germany. The location offered easy access to many vineyards and wineries as well as castle visit along the Rhine. "This is the second time we have stayed as my sister lives nearby. Spotlessly clean again and the hosts were there to check us in early. Gunter and Ulrika are so kind to our children, letting them play with toys in their house and garden. Nice touches are added like wine on arrival and snacks and chocolate for the kids. The garden is beautiful and provides immediate access to a network of hiking trails that are well worth the effort. We rented e-bikes in nearby Bingen and cycled along the Rhine and into the nearby neighbouring towns, vineyards and historic sites. "Die Zimmeraufteilung ist super für Familien- oder Gruppenurlaub. Für kleinere Kinder ist der Spielplatz im Garten ideal. Allerdings lässt die Sauberkeit der Wohnung zu wünschen übrig. In der Kaffeemaschine war ein verschimmelter Filter und die Tischdecke hat am Tisch geklebt. Künstliche verstaubte Blumen sind nicht gut für Allergiker. Trotzdem würden wir wiederkommen."

"Fantastically clean property with very comfortable rooms and bed. Excellent kitchen with all amenities, good bathroom (with washing machine as well). It's in a quieter residential area uphill from St Goar train station so quite a steep walk if you don't have a car. Steffi the owner was really helpful and friendly and picked me up from the train station with my cases and offered to take me to places like supermarkets for food. A really great place to stay. "An der 2 1/2-Zi-Wg gibt es wirklich nichts auszusetzen; das Interieur sehr modern, aber trotzdem gemütlich. Ein grosses Pluspunkt auch die bedachte Terrasse, sodass man auch bei Regenwetter draussen sitzen kann. Die Gastgeberin, Frau Pirschle, sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Nein, es gibt wirklich nichts zu bekritteln. Wir genossen auf jeden Fall unseren 6-tägigen Aufenthalt. Und: eine sehr ruhige Gegend (Einfamilienhaus-Quartier)."

However as the former guests had vacated the apartment several days earlier the building’s heating system was turned off, and only turned back on once we checked in. As the apartment is on the ground floor and a large portion is below ground in this lovely old building the apartment never really warmed up. "We were so happy with our experience at the property. The pictures were representative of the property, and in fact there were more beds than we envisioned. The layout is a little unusual, but it was great for us!! All beds are upstairs divided into 2 rooms with doors (each with a couch and an elevated double/queen bed) and 1 large open area at the top of the stairs with 2 double beds (1 may even be a king-size). "A lovely, well-equipped house in a stunning location with its own fabulous garden. Brilliant for our family group of 10. Lots to do locally. The gem museum, gem mine, Celtic settlement were great trips and the open-air swimming pool in Rhaunen was much enjoyed. We visited Herrstein twice! Klaus and Anna were really helpful hosts.
