“Clean and GREAT coffee”

The most important thing is that this hotel was CLEAN. Rooms were a tad small, but how much time do you spend in the room? Great location for restaurants, bars etc. A bit of a walk to Fisherman's Wharf, but worth the stroll.

“Charming, clean, a great value!”

The rooms aren't fancy, but immaculately clean. The hotel itself is very cute with colorful murals. There is a courtyard with tables, 2 hammocks and a pool, with nice landscaping including bamboo plants and lots of flowers. There is a nice continental breakfast included with good coffee and pastries. Would definitely go back!

“A friendly and convenient hotel”

We have just spent 10 days staying at the Hotel Del Sol and we can not recommend it highly enough. Having read previous reviews we didn't believe that it could all be true but it really was! The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were always so cheerful! Breakfast was great - loads of it - as many donuts, pastries and bagels as you can eat with plenty of juice and good coffee! Lots of nice extra touches like the free BBQ on a Friday and - our favourite - milk and cookies every evening!!The pool was larger than we had thought so it was very welcome as we were there during the hottest July since records began!!The hotel was very well situated for getting to all the attractions as it is very near to several regular bus routes. There is also a good variety of local restarants although the one fast food place (KFC) was dire!!We would definately go back if we visit San Francisco again!!

“Feels Like Home in a Big City . . . Can't Wait To Go Back!”

Rooms were clean and bright and colorful. Free breakfast was great start to the day and free parking as well and 6:00PM cookies and milk was a really nice touch as well as the Friday night barbeque. People at the desk went above and beyond with helping with directions, bags, rooms, restaurant recommendations and even trying to find other people rooms. Neighborhood was really nice as well. We can't wait to go back!

“Sent to sister property Hotel Tomo...”

There was construction at the Hotel del Sol and since we were traveling with a toddler we asked to be moved to another of their properties. The manager there was very polite and made the arrangements for us to transfer our reservation to the Hotel Tomo. They were so accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely stay there again. Overall, we were very impressed with the Joie de Vivre service, I regardless of the star ranking of the hotel, you can expect impeccable service.

“Great stay with Baby and Free Parking!!”

This hotel was excellent for a family trip with our baby. While attending a conference downtown my husband was able to find lots to do with our baby. We didn't swim as it was too cold, but other brave souls took advantage of the heated pool. We loved the free parking, easy walk to Cow Hollow and Union Street, the town car to Union Square and the simple continental breakfast. We missed a bathtub in the room for bathing the baby, but otherwise everything was very cozy and friendly. We will stay there again.

“Great hotel!”

We had a great stay at this hotel. After reading other reviews about the noisiness we were a bit concerned about booking this hotel as we have 2 young children. We were on the top floor so did not get any noise from rooms above and while the corridors were a bit noisy with suitcases this was never a problem for us. The hotel was very clean and inviting to be in. The breaskfast was great and the staff were brilliant. For a 2.5 star hotel you could not find fault with it.

“Nice place to stay”

Helpfulness of the front desk staff was exceptional. One of the best we have ever received. Breakfast was a little disorganised due to size restraints of where it was served but other than that recommend staying. Plenty of parking if you have a vehicle.
