Only thing good about this Motel is the location. When you first arrive, there is a sign at the door instructing you to turn around and go to another hotel down the street to check in. There you are told that there is no staff on-site at the Herbert, no cleaning and no concierge. I walked back to the hotel and headed to my room. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, the mattress itself was dirty and covered in stains. The floors were uneven and the radiator leaked water out the bottom every time I used it. This Motel deserves 0 stars and potential guests should avoid unless you have a thing for staying in dumps like this one.

Rooms were comfortable, cleanliness could have been slightly better in the bathroom (upon arrival it seemed it needed a little more work, nothing major just small details) Staff was nice, nice building, great area close to public transportation, Union Square, lots of eating and shopping options. Overall a nice stay. Rooms were basic, but offer everything you could want. I would stay there again.

I liked being right at the beginning of the cable car line, it made the location very convenient for travelling around downtown and seeing all the touristy sights. The room was very clean, i had a top floor corner unit and enjoyed the 5 night stay, would reccomend for the price.

I love the location of the property for a hotel room it was decent. We were only using the room to sleep. I think the only thing I would want from the room is a mini fridge or an icemaker of some sort in the lounge area so that I could’ve had a cold drinks when I got back from visiting the city.

No one at the front desk I had to register and check in at another hotel up the street,kinda weird. I was told that the company ran other hotel's in the c Surrounding area. Check in was painless except for having to give them a copy of my physical credit card. Anyway the hotel was ok nothing outstanding. Room was small but ok,sheets were short fitted. Room had no amenities except a coffee pot. It was very close to restaurants and public transportation.

There is no staff at the front desk which is inconvenient bc you have to walk a block (with luggage in tow) to another hotel to check in. Then, when you check out, there is no place to store your luggage for the rest of the day. There is no air conditioning in the room. Very basic room. The Herbert hotel was perfect for our one night stay. It was close to the rental car office and walkable to lots of shops and restaurants. The downside was there was no mini-fridge for our cold food. I did like that we felt safe with the locked key front door. It was quiet and clean.

This hotel is centrally located, which was very nice. Walking distance to many different activities. But was saying that there is no air-conditioning. There were no ice machines or vending machines at all. And there were generally old men that stayed there which was kind of odd. It would be nice to at least have an ice machine to make a drink or two in the evening to relax. And you must keep your windows open all the time otherwise it is uncomfortable. I would definitely consider other options.

Awesome experience!

My flight got in earlier than expected so I explained this to the front desk, expecting to have to pay an early check in fee,however they checked me in early with no fee.The whole check in process was so quick and easy and the staff are very friendly and helpful as well as the rooms are very neat and clean.I will definitely be returning to the herbert hotel!!
