"Riu Palace was exactly as expected. Check in was easy, bags were transported to our room by the bellhop. Room was cleaned on a level of 7.5/10. However the rest of the resort was very clean and maintained. Really enjoyed having a chair at the pool and not having to scrounge for empty seats. Pool service kept the drinks flowing, always tip! If you want frequent service. The one thing that my partner and I weren’t pleased with was the restaurants on the resort. We tried Krystal and the Mexican...

Accommodation in Mexico

Famous the world over for its for its pristine beaches and ancient ruins, Mexico offers a wealth of culture and an incredible landscape that make it one of the most desired locations in North America. You can discover all the majesty that this country has to offer when you book a flight to Mexico right here with us.

When to Visit

With mountains, valleys, and coasts surrounded by two oceans, Mexico is home to several climates that bring wildly varying weather. Generally in Mexico, accommodation located closer to sea level will experience conditions that tend to be more tropical compared with other parts of the country. Areas that are farther inland and higher in elevation are more prone to cooler climes, especially during the mid-winter months. If it’s warm weather and sunshine you seek in Mexico, resorts by the beach in places like Playa del Carmen are your best bet from October to May.

What to See and Do

The many resorts in Mexico are a major lure for travellers seeking an escape from their everyday lives. This isn’t only due to the gorgeous vistas the resorts offer in all directions, but also because of the many ways to have fun in the water. Surfing, snorkelling, and scuba diving are offered along both coasts, and the fishing spots in this region are among the best in the hemisphere.

If you’re staying in one of the Mexico hotels farther in from the coast, you’ll be more likely to find ruins left behind by the ancient Meso-American peoples who inhabited this land for untold ages. The pyramid-like El Castillo, located in the historic city of Chichen Itza, is one of Mexico’s most iconic monuments, and showcases the impressive architectural skills of the once-thriving Mayan civilization.

If you’re ready to plan the holiday of your dreams, look no further than our user-friendly search tools. No matter if you’re looking for the best hotels or the most affordable car rentals in Mexico, Expedia.com.au can help you create the perfect plan for your trip.
