"Great hotel! Very close to the airport."
We needed a hotel that was close to the airport. This hotel is clean and very close to the airport. They have a continental breakfast which was nice. They accept pets and were very accommodating, placing us on a ground floor so that it was easier to get in and out of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

"For the real Mexican culture, stay here"
This hotel is very inexpensive but is a very clean, safe place to stay well away from the other tourists. I chose this hotel because all my research led me to the conclusion it was a safe area, which it was. Not once walking around at night or day did I feel unsafe, and me being a white guy with a shaved head and my wife Korean, we could not really blend in. I booked a snorkeling trip for $66, 3 snorkeling sessions, round trip transportation from the hotel, all you can eat and drink to include alcohol. I went though the "hotel zone" where all the other tourist went to and unless you have a car or stay with a tour group every day, you see what only the hotel wants you to see, the whole area reminded me of the United States, not Mexico, it was all fabricated in the hotel zone. The Mexican culture is indeed very rich and the people are very nice. As long as you don't act like an idiot you will have no issues from the Mexican people. I took the public bus a lot because it was only 8.50 Pecos (about $0.80) to go from the hotel to a water park on the outskirts of the hotel zone called wet n wild (again all you can eat and drink to include alcohol), compared to $60-$100 in a taxi. If you do your research (Google "things to do in Cancun, then locate on a Google map and figure out how to get there), you will enjoy the true Mexican culture and have a great time, you can even get the Cancun bus routes on Google. The staff was always very professional, nice and helpful.

"Pleasant surprise."
If you want a quiet vacation this is the place to be. Very family oriented. Close to downtown but far enough away from the noise and partying that goes on there. All rooms have beautiful ocean views. The one and two bedroom suites have a large balcony to relax on after the beach. The villas are immaculately clean and beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is a bit outdated but then again we were on vacation. The ocean is paradise. Beautiful clear blue caribbean water.

"Fantastic Beach Hotel!"
We reserved a standard room with two double beds 7 months before our trip. When we checked in, there was only a standard room with one king bed left. This room also had no view, and the window did not open (room 211 west building). Although we were disappointed, the room proved to be very clean and spacious and had a wonderful shower. We really appreciated the large water dispenser with fresh water. We always had plenty of clean towels and soaps. Housekeeping did a great job! I would definitely upgrade to a room or suite with a view in the future. The beach is outstanding! Although the hotel has two very nice pools, we never used either one. We spent most of our time on the powder soft beach or swimming in the calm, clear, turquoise ocean. We never had trouble finding lounge chairs, and the staff was very helpful in setting up umbrellas and a small table if we asked. The water is clear and warm, and you can walk out quite far before it gets deep. It was fun to watch the yachts docked just outside the swimming area. The hotel is located within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants and shops. We rented a golf cart for a week, and were able to take our time and explore the entire island. I would definitely recommend renting a golf cart for at least a day just to see all of the beautiful different parts of the island. We enjoyed the freedom to come and go as we pleased. There is much to see and we put on many miles!

    Cancun Hotel Guide

    Step back in time

Famed for its ancient origins as much as its current-day bustle, Cancun's Mayan Ruins take in striking architecture, spectacular art, and culturally diverse structures. Between the 1980s and the present, Cancun has transformed itself from a jungle village into a diverse holiday resort comprising ancient relics and sandy beaches, and providing a haven for water sports fanatics and beach holidaymakers alike. Buttressing south-east Mexico's coastline, this part of the Yucatan Peninsula contrasts Caribbean-facing luxury hotels with bars and restaurants overlooking the romantic Nichupte Lagoon.

Ancient Mayan Cancun has more than left its mark on the modern incarnation of the city - most obviously in the form of Chichen Itza, the cultural center of Cancun. The Kukulkan Pyramid forms a striking figurehead, standing at a height of over 75 feet as part of the ancient mysterious city. It's also worth spending some time at the archaeological site so that you can experience the less obvious points of attraction, such as the Cenotes (sinkholes), an ideal setting for a solid day's freshwater swimming.

    Interact with nature

Enjoy views of the Cancun jungles with some horseback riding --it's the freest way to explore the matchless destination of Cancun, a truly different taste of the Mexican way of life. And why not swim with dolphins? You can be a part of their aquatic world, and experience their serenity and benevolence face-to-face. And if that's still not enough then why not visit Xcaret, an ancient Mayan village which now comprises an underground river, aquarium, and aviary? It's a truly unique experience - an otherworldly paradise.

If thinking outside the box is your thing, spend some time in Tulum; set atop a cliff overlooking the Caribbean, Tulum is home to Xel-Ha, the world's largest natural aquarium. Tulum's structures date back more than seven centuries, and the 40-foot high El Castillo pyramid is the aesthetic focus.

    Regional specialities

Downtown Cancun gives a taste of the local way of life with a plethora of regional specialities ready and waiting. Be it indigenous cuisine, live music, or local handicrafts you're after, it's all there; it's a taste of the true Mexicana to contrast with the Americanized city center.

Accommodation can mainly be found in the famous Zone Hotelera, an area shaped like a '7' featuring bridges connecting to the mainland. Rough beaches envelop the vertical side of the '7', while the horizontal end provides a tropical paradise for surfers and sun-seekers alike. The 14-mile beach stretch is where the city comes alive at night; the vast selection of bars and clubs means there is bound to be one to suit your taste. The area undertakes the great feat of transforming itself from the world's second largest coral reef during the daytime to a lively party city at night.
