"The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10am"

"We were here for a couple of days and had a wonderful stay! The place is kept clean, and it sits right by the ski hill. Nothing beats a soak in the hot public bath after a day of skiing. Also loved the breakfast and dinner! The gem though was the staff, who were incredibly friendly and went out of the way to help us. "
