"A really lovely place to stay bed rooms great comfy bed , breakfast was so nice and plenty of it manager and stay so friendly like home from home would again with a thought "
"Although the hotel is looking "tired", e.g. light fittings hanging off in the bathroom, I felt safe. Just wanted somewhere to sleep for 1 night, therefore ideal"
"On entering the property we was greeted by the reception staff they were very friendly and helpful, they made our short stay feel at ease, had everything we needed and the owner was so polite even carried my bag upstairs and said anything we need just ask. Really can’t fault our room was lovely felt homely & cosy, the area was nice & quiet. Highly recommend this place. We had the family room as it was the last one left for us to book & was a great size room. 10/10 "
"We stayed as a group of 8 ladies, we we watching a show at the stage making this apartment the perfect location. Directly outside the metro station, with a few minutes walk. The apartment had everything we needed, it was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfy. Would highly recommend "
"absolutely terrible when we got there they didn’t have our booking and tried to place us in a smaller room for double the price I booked for. The room was tiny and the men were rude"
"Friendly comfottable old pub .Large rooms.Good breakfast.Parking and bus stop across the road.Frequent buses to newcastle chester le street and durham."
"This hotel was really good value for money. I would not bother paying for the breakfast as this was over priced. The rooms were clean and comfortable but it did say that it will be changing to a premier inn soon and the rooms will all be having a make over. I would stay here again if returning to Newcastle."

"Lovely little property. Everything was nice and clean, the kitchen facilities are adequate for a short stay. A bit more storage space in the kitchen would be useful, the stools under the counter could be done away with and a cupboard put in, but apart from that very comfortable. There is a nice pub across the road and a lovely tea rooms next door for breakfast. Ideally situated for Beamish museum and there is the added bonus of a free pass from the owner. Some beautiful walks right from the door, you can walk to Tanfield Station through the gorge, taking in Causey Arch, where you can take a trip on a steam train. The only negative is that the sat nav takes you to some properties on the wrong side of the road which is confusing. Signage on the road would be useful. The turn off is actually opposite the Roadhouse pub, rather than on the same side. All in all we had a lovely stay and will be back, now we know where to find it! Thank you Hilary "
"We stayed here before the GNR. Good location. Room was clean and bathroom is good. Check in was easy. It had a kitchnette which i didnt realise, so next time id be able to prepare my breaksfast before the run. Would definitely recommend."
