"It'll be interesting how this hotel navigates the post Covid-19 world. I'm unsure if they are still going to be able to deliver the same level of service that they previously offered. For example, we had to wait almost 2 hours for our room upon check-in and from what I understand, that was typical ..."

"It'll be interesting how this hotel navigates the post Covid-19 world. I'm unsure if they are still going to be able to deliver the same level of service that they previously offered. For example, we had to wait almost 2 hours for our room upon check-in and from what I understand, that was typical since they did not have enough staff cleaning the rooms. I wouldn't say that this is a complaint since this was typical throughout the Taupo region - not enough staff working for an overwhelmed tourist town.
Then we had to call each day to get get the room to be cleaned and when they did clean it, it was a very brief cleaning where they just changed the towels, cleaned the bathrooms, took out trash and made the bed. But this again is pervasive in the Taupo region where there are simply not enough hospitality workers anymore.
Otherwise, our room was quite nice. The pool was absolutely wonderful although it "broke" towards the end of our stay. The staff were as pleasant as they could be given the lack of them. You had to book every meal since they didn't have enough staff working breakfast or dinner. "
