"We stayed for a long weekend. It was great to be right on the wharf! The food around us was great! Room was clean and easy to access. There was breakfast included at a local cafe which was scrumptious."

"A welcome rest for three days after working our way down from Campbell River. The hotel is in a great location and has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We did not eat at the hotel as we wanted simple fayre in the morning and search out different cuisines via Trip Advisor. We had a two Queen bed room on the 2nd floor overlooking the ferry harbour area.
Although the room was very good, after three days we found the beds a bit too hard and left with aches in our backs. Having two queen beds in the room did make it a bit roomy. Overall, a very good stay and we really enjoyed our visit. Thank you Grand Pacific."
"The Fairmont Empress is a five star hotel. The staff are amazing, the area is amazing, the hotel itself is impressive. Do yourself a favour and spend a couple nights. Be sure to attend High Tea. "
"First, when I was checking in, they upgraded me to a better room- what a lovely surprise! The room was very nice, and the view was nice too. They made sure we understood how to access the parking area, and showed us some areas in Victoria that I was interested in on the map. If I had one small issue, it was that their pillows are very big and dense- not something I am used to- I likely should've asked if they had softer ones available. Everything else was FABULOUS!"
"The client services were excellent, staff attentive and extremely accommodating. Suite was well laid out, good use of space, and comfortable bed and bath. Enjoyed the calm quiet atmosphere. Would choose this hotel again. "
"I was a guest for 5 nights. My bedroom and bath were clean, bed comfortable, quiet, and WiFi was good.
Breakfast bar was satisfying with an abundance of options.
I am on a trip of several weeks, and it was an amenity to have a clean guest laundry.
I had mistakenly double booked one night and the manager was cooperative and helpful in getting me a refund. "
"Our room was a suite (with balcony), and it was the nicest suite I have ever stayed at besides Toledo (Spain) and the most prestigious hotel suite in San Francisco, CA. It was 2.5 blocks easy walk to the Harbor and the Empress where we had high tea reservations.
The staff (immigrants from Philippines and Wales) were highly professional, helpful, efficient, and wonderful!
The large kitchen was fully equipped, including a washer and dryer (summer amazing), and I was most impressed with the recycling bin with 4 types of recycling options. Hotel also had the first composting bin I have ever seen, which we happily used… Most impressive and environmentally friendly!
Only negative was the traffic noise from idiots with loud mufflers: closing windows eliminated the noise.
Loved all the window blinds that kept room dark so I could sleep in, after a long days travel.
In sum, this was one of the best suites I have ever stayed at. Very highly recommended! "
