The best area to stay in Vezio is within the historic Castello di Vezio or the immediate surrounding hillside, offering unparalleled views and a tranquil setting.

Castello di Vezio itself is the heart of the village, a medieval fortress perched high above Lake Como. Staying here means being just steps away from the castle's ancient walls, its falconry displays, and the breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The area around the castle is characterised by narrow, cobbled lanes and traditional stone houses, providing a sense of stepping back in time.

For couples seeking a romantic and secluded escape, the accommodations directly within or very close to the Castello di Vezio are ideal. The quiet evenings here, with the lights twinkling across the lake, create a truly memorable experience. It's a place to unwind, enjoy scenic walks, and savour the peaceful atmosphere away from the busier lakeside towns.

Families might find the hillside just below the castle a good option. While still offering stunning views and a calm environment, these properties often provide more space and easier access for exploring, perhaps with a short walk down to the nearest public transport links or a slightly gentler incline for daily strolls.

The best times to visit Vezio are during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

Spring in Vezio offers mild temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the village and surrounding hiking trails without the intense heat of summer. The landscape is lush and green, and wildflowers are in bloom, providing beautiful scenery for walks. It's a great time for couples who enjoy outdoor activities and a relaxed pace.

Early autumn also provides comfortable temperatures and fewer visitors compared to the peak summer months. The changing colours of the foliage around Lake Como are particularly stunning, creating a picturesque backdrop for your stay. This period is also excellent for couples seeking a peaceful getaway and opportunities for scenic drives or boat trips on the lake.

While summer (July and August) is popular, it can be quite warm and busy, with more tourists.
