"The Lucerne is in a great location in a safe, convenient, legendary neighborhood. Abundant restaurants and hangouts nearby in any direction for a true New York experience, quite removed from high density tourist hotels. Easy subway access to other areas of the city or airports. The Lucerne is where locals refer friends and family to stay. Not cheap, but a fair value in New York, and far less than other similar venues. If you pay less, you will get less. The Lucerne is quiet, clean, safe, and well maintained. The Lucerne staff are friendly and well trained. Pay the extra for a daily breakfast at Petit Matin which is located in the same building as the Lucerne, and has an entry door next to the elevators. It’s also a great place for dinners, and is a local favorite. Tough to find a better value in a better location than the Lucerne. "
