"The hotel is beautiful! The entrance, lounge area and rooms are spectacular and well kept. We were a family of 4 and stayed in the 4 bed room. The onsite onsen is also a must do. There is also a guest lounge area in the basement with drinks and snacks that we found useful. The previous reviews about the smoking smell in the elevator and hallways are on point. The smoking room is behind the check in desk , a small room and they open the door to clean it up … the fire station across the street...

The only downside was that the train station was a bit of a walk in a crowded area in the afternoon with luggage. It was fine for morning departure. "Awesome Onsen. Quick check in. The two open air mineral baths were clean, comfortable and relaxing. The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. On the 11th floor the afternoon and evening it was gently raining and sitting in the Onsen with rain coming down made me feel one with the rain and hot water. The food was awesome, a huge variety and more than I could eat. The room was traditional Japanese and comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed our 10th wedding anniversary at Yumotokan."
