The location of this hotel is superb, it is located In a few minutes walk from two subway stations. We also didn’t have any problems to find the dining options for us. The room itself was clean, but amenities are outdated. The AC was set to the heat only and there was no option to set it to a cool or a fan. The hotel has an option to buy a breakfast, which is a buffet. We gave it a try, but regretted it. It was better to find yummy food in outside restaurants for less money. The staff was friendly.

Very near station, a little tucked away but an easy walk from subway. Near a grocery store and dining options. Centrally located. Good value.

Wonderful stay
a fine stay in an amazing city. room no the biggest but to be expected for tokyo. metro stop on the doorstep. great shower and friendly staff. gotta love the complimentary robe.

Great Service & Location
The staff were very helpful. The room was small but I got used to it fast. The location was perfect. It was close to my son’s apartment.

Great stay near The University of Tokyo / Ueno
Great value for price, kind staff, and wifi. Short walking distance to The University of Tokyo, walkable to Ueno and the area nearby. No mineral water inside, so don't forget to buy one in your way in after drinking (there is a vending machine just in front of the hotel).

Clean, quiet, comfortable hotel with amenities like refrigerator, coffee maker, bathrobe (yukata). Very convenient location near subway. In a commercial and residential neighborhood near the University of Tokyo and Imperial Palace. Very friendly and helpful staff

The location was ideal for those who want to be near the college or the akihabara area and close to a metro station. Walls are a little thin so you can hear the noise from other room. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and was pretty pleased with the service and the staff was very helpful.

Nice hotel close to the station
This is a nice and reasonable hotel close to Hongo sanchomevstation. Everything is in close proximity. The room was clean with all basic stuffs. Hotel staffs were friendly. It also has a nice restaurant. University of Tokyo is just 7 min walk. Highly recommended for short stay.

Older/not the most comfy, but great staff/locale
The rooms were definitely older style and the beds and pillows left a bit to be desired. The shower and bathroom were also a little creaky and just felt outdated. But the staff was of course very friendly and there was a whiskey and beer vending machine on floor 2, so that was fantastic. Close to Tokyo Daigaku and Tokyo Dome!

We spent two night with big group. The hotel provides what we need, such as a triple bed, and the location is across the subway, easy to locate.

Hotel Kizankan is very conveniently located. The staff are extremely helpful. I highly recommend this place.

When I arrived with my two friends everything was ready but when I got to the room there was only two beds for three people so I went down to the receptionist and they were very argumentative in there reservation it had two people so they gave me two beds in my reservation it said three beds they were not happy with me but at the end I got my room with three beds

The hotel is perfectly located near the Tokyo University. Two different subway line stations are located just nearby. There's a McDonald's on the corner to provide you with quick meals whenever you go. The block is very old, but seems quiet and safe, just behind the police box. This is typical business hotel so the rooms are very small. Just for sleep, shower and writing some letters.The staff is very friendly and helpful. But the hotel needs visual repairs very much. All the walls seem like painted last in 70s, dust, mold,... Air conditioning is not quiet (however not very noisy) and the filters are not clean. But the overall shape, cleanness of rooms is quite OK. I had no worries when staying there. And I stopped there 3 or 4 times already. BTW. Bring your own LAN cord to access the Internet for free, or it can be borrowed at reception desk for a few coins. Last year I didn't like their breakfast.

Reasonable enough
Haven't stayed any other hotels in Tokyo, so cannot compare too much on price. We didn't pay a fortune, and considering some of the other places we stayed in Japan, we were happy enough. Small room (triple), but comfortable, clean, quiet. In most cases, a hotel room is simply a place to put your bags, and sleep. Perfectly adequate for this - no problems in this department.

Close to the Kodokan Judo Institute
I was competing at the Kodokan in the All Japan High Dan Judo tournament, and found the location of the Kizankan in regards to distance from Kodokan to be satisfactory! Everything requested was taken care of, and the front desk staff went out of their way to assist me with anything I required be it directions, loan of an umbrella, extra pillow, etc. I will definitely consider staying here on my next trip (April 25 - May 2, 2014)!! The room (#425) was up to the standard of similar quarters available in the area.
