Hotel Gracery Shinjuku

8/10 Good

"Our overall stay at the hotel was great. The staff were friendly, the lounge was nice, and the location was great. The staff at the front desk helped us to schedule a taxi to the airport which was awesome. The staff said the cost would be 12,000 yen or about $76 usd, great! However, the taxi driver picked us up, and our Google map said the ride was 30 mins to the airport. The driver did not use a map and took us extremely far away from the airport, and the ride took over an hour and a half. Upon arriving to the airport the charge was about $27,000 yen, which is over double what the hotel staff told us. The driver understood no English and we had absolutely no time to discuss the charge. I was unable to leave a review for the driver due to not setting up the ride myself. I know this isnt 100% the hotels fault, but they did falsely advertise the ride and it ended up costing a lot of money. If theres a way to contact the taxi service id appreciate that. Other than the ride to the airport which was extremely stressful, the hotel was wonderful."

Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

10/10 Excellent

"Great hotel in the great location. 10 min walk from Shinjuku station. The room was exactly as on the photos: it was large by the local standards, with a wardrobe and drawers to store clothes and enough space for three suitcase. The beds were comfortable. In the evenings we could watch the light show on the Municipal Government building, which is just across the road from the hotel. Breakfast was great, large selection of freshly cooked dishes, frest vegetables and fruit. I would recommend the hotel and the location."

HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL Hotel

"The staff at the hotel were exceptional. Everyone spoke English, and there were always multiple people available to assist us (no waiting!). The hotel location is in the heart of the Shinjuku area, which is full of Japanese young people and tourists in the evenings (especially weekends). The rooms are a bit small by American standards, but we were comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and the shower was excellent. Breakfast had an incredible number of choices, and was consistently delicious. Some of the meals I had at lunch or dinner (elsewhere) didn't have a lot of vegetables or fruit, and I relied on breakfast for plenty of those. We loved Japan, and Groove Shinjuku enhanced our experience."
