"A quirky, well appointed accomodation in splendid surroundings. A wonderful fireplace and a special room for the children, filled with large soft cushions. We were lucky with the weather and had great walks in the Slad valley, but in case of rain the place is big enough for eight people to be comfortable. The Woolpack pub is only a few minutes down the road. It is advisable to bring torches for the walk in the dark, as the road is narrow and busy, although traffic is slow due to the parking arrangements. We had a wonderful stay. We forgot a bottle of whiskey, the caretaker and the person at the office were helpful and we arranged for a handover in the near future!"

"Loved the property, beds were delightfully comfortable and property was super warm. Reasonably well equipped though was missing enough pods and some basics. Smelt a bit weird in some spaces but overall a lovely stay and looks exactly like the photos. The location was excellent too - so good to be right in the heart of it all."

"Everything was perfect. It was a good stay. But it is just too warm during the summer weekend. There is no AC or fan so it was unbearably warm. Apart from that, it was a lovely stay. "

"The Chairman’s Retreat is a beautiful, very well appointed home. Four very pleasant bedrooms, with lovely, fresh, crisp, bed linens. The kitchen is superbly equipped, and has a fabulous cooking range with a couple of ovens, grill, and warming drawer. The views of Frith Woods and the Slad Valley are breathtaking. Chris and Suzanne were very welcoming, and Chris was so helpful (and a great baker to boot. His home-made flapjacks were delicious). They stocked up the ‘fridge with supplies for our first night, and breakfast. Very much appreciated.Thank you so much to you both for being fabulous hosts."
