Top South East England Hotel Reviews
Malmaison Oxford
10/10 Excellent
"Back for a second visit - really fun ambiance, great location, good breakfast, and very friendly and efficient staff. We’ll be back again!"
Leonardo Hotel Southampton
10/10 Excellent
"Love this chain of hotels. Good location. Clean hotel. Welcoming staff and reasonable costs. Would definately return."
The Grand Brighton
8/10 Good
"Great Location, Cool Building with Interesting Historical Character but with Modernised Rooms - but not to the standard that they are charging for them, felt quite overpriced to me as someone who regularly travels, I’ve had much better rooms at the cheaper chain hotels. With the rooms being average you possibly could expect the hotel to justify its high prices through good service instead but again this was also average at best - with the exception of the concierge staff who were all brilliant, everyone else we interacted with felt like they couldn’t care less, nothing they said was particularly rude or wrong, it just felt like a lack of effort and like they were doing the bare minimum - Totally acceptable in a £70 a night Travelodge but not at The Grand’s prices. Everything else felt like a particularly pricey add on to try and fleece you too - parking @ £40 a night, Pool access is £27 a person for a 1.5 hour slot - if you managed to pre-book it, I ordered one alcoholic single and a mixer and a non-alcoholic drink at the bar and paid in excess of £25 for it. They need to either up their service levels / customer experience significantly or drop their prices a chunk to suit what they are currently offering to customers."
Hotel La Tour
10/10 Excellent
"Nice location next door to shopping centre. Excellent views from the rooftop restaurant. Large rooms, quiet and comfortable. Superb breakfast with excellent staff service. The manager very very helpful."
Cotswolds Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Clean room and kind staff. Lovely setting as our view was over the golf course. Parking was good. Not much choice in restaurant for evening meal, but plenty of places nearby. Breakfast a bit pricey at £14.95 each so we went to nearby Woodstock where there were some lovely cafes."
De Vere Wokefield Estate
10/10 Excellent
"Great stay! They had probably the best breakfast offering we’ve seen in a while. We loved it."
Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront
10/10 Excellent
"The room was very nice and clean, and I was happy with the overall standard of housekeeping. However, I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t given any information about the hotel’s facilities or amenities when I checked in. Other than that, I was very happy with my stay."
DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole

Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone
8/10 Good
"Pros: The room was very clean and had all the bits and bobs you need ( hair dryer, fan, iron, tea making stuff, tv and a fridge). The hotel also provided a travel cot for our baby. The room had a great sea view. The hotel it self is interesting, a bit run down and rough round the edges. There was live entertainment in the “ballroom” every night, which was cringy in an amusing way. The location is excellent. The room price was very reasonable (mid week). It is a budget hotel not a luxury one. Negatives: the front desk is very understaffed, we wanted to extend our stay and had to queue at reception, only to then be told we had to book via a phone attached to the wall. When we used the phone we were quoted £10 more than hotels.com. We then had to queue for another 20mins to get new key cards. There was only 1 receptionist for a hotel with hundreds of rooms. The pool was pleasant enough but you have to pay £4 each every single time you use it (even as a paying guest at the hotel). I think that’s a bit cheeky and I’ve never experienced that in a hotel before. They could at least add a single charge to your room for a pool pass instead. We didn’t have breakfast as I thought it was a little over priced. Over all we enjoyed staying there and will definitely be returning."
