Beach Bunkie Glamping in Port Dover

Beach Bunkie Glamping in Port Dover

8/10 Good
"A great glamping option in the heart of Port Dover! You can see and hear the water right from the bunkie. Property is easy to find, with ample street parking. It's a short walk downtown via the side streets, or along the beach, which made it easy to visit local coffee shops, restaurants, the museum and catch a live performance at the local theatre. Great views from the bunkie of sunrise or sunset, or to watch a thunderstorm roll through. Upon arriving, was initially a bit taken back to discover that a couple of the photos in the listing must be from other options/locations on the property, as the bunkie itself is an approx 8×8 dwelling, with the outdoor shower, indoor toilet and mini kitchenette about 6 steps down from the bunkie in the basement of another dwelling. Outdoor shower has hot water, and provides great views of the lake. With windows on all sides of the bunkie, it really offers the brease and experience of camping, but stability of structured glamping, and there's a great overhead fan for staying cool, and electircal outlets for charging. There's the option for two single cots/beds, or pushed together it made for a comfy double, and great sleeps. We had brought our own camping bedding, but the host provides bedding and also provided towels. One thing that would make it a full 5/5 is if the bunkie were lockable, but it IS technically glamping, and otherwise a truly great stay on Lake Erie, and would absolutely book again. The location is perfect!"

The Lake Erie Retreat | Pool, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Lake Views. Pet Friendly!

8/10 Good
"Cottage is really nice. Bigger than it looks from road. Not really a beach across the street. Just flat rocks. Some outdoor furniture in photos not actually there. You see an outdoor dining set for 6 on back deck and small table on front deck. Neither of those were there. Just a wooden picnic table to eat at outside. Pool was great. Lots of fun. We brought our own pool floats and toys. Glad we did. Almost everything provided was broken. No outdoor games provided. Corn hole or something would be nice. Bottom rusted out of fire pit but could still have a fire.Hot tub looked like a milk bath. We didn't go in it. Bath tub in main bath only about 4 ft long. Was good for a childs bath. Cottage and grounds well maintained and very clean. Nice pergola over back deck for shade but only place that provides any shelter if you want to sit outside if it's raining is fabric gazebo over the picnic table closer to the back of the yard. Would I go back? Yes."

"Wonderful experience, the property is beautiful and as advertised. Kids loved the bunkie (aka “Kids Club”) and the vintage arcade game was a hit (with some new high scores added). Beds were the most comfortable we have experienced in other trips. With a young family, having all the amenities included was a life saver. The lake was refreshing and fun time for all."
