Only small complaint is I cannot have a printed receipt with amount paid for the stay (receipt printed by the desk clerk shows zero amount paid - need this for work related reimbursement from employer)."

"This property is centrally located in Santa Maria, perfect for business trips, my choice for over 20 years. The staff for the most part are friendly and knowledgeable. Over the years there have been some changes. The Restaurant at one time was 4-5 Stars, today 2-3. The wait staff is great; it's the Menu and food have degraded. At one time there was a Coffee Bar, no more. I understand that County Codes are responsible for the smoking restriction in the Patio behind the Bar which was very comfortable and convenient. I am a Cigar Smoker and now both Smoking Areas are uncomfortable and in guest traffic locations, not good. However, I still prefer the Historic Santa Maria Inn over other Hotels in the area."
