THE MIDLAND HOTEL, Chicago, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This location was great! Within walking distance of Michigan Avenue and Grant Park as well as cta trains. We ate at the Corner Bakery, just around the corner! Lots of dining options."
"Was there for the Chicago Marathon. Staff was wonderful. Room was clean. Was able to check out early and do bag check for later pickup which was fabulous. Very nice stay. "
"Loved our stay there for Chicago Marathon, the best place to stay near the start/finish , room was quiet and clean but a little more ventilated would have been nice . "
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chicago Downtown

"Review for La Quinta, Chicago
We really enjoyed our stay at La Quinta — probably one of the best La Quintas we’ve stayed at! The hotel was very clean, and we loved how secure everything felt. It’s conveniently located near the Chicago train (metro/subway) and within walking distance of the water taxi, making it super easy to get around the city.
Before booking, I did my research and saw quite a few one-star reviews, which honestly made me hesitate. But I decided to take the chance — and I’m so glad I did! I’m not sure why those reviews were so low, because our experience was far from a one-star stay. It’s probably just really picky guests leaving those, because this hotel definitely deserves better.
Breakfast was great — they served a hot breakfast with a nice variety of options, and even had a pancake-making machine, which was such a fun touch! The hotel also offers luggage storage if you arrive before check-in. Our flight landed early at 8 AM, and they stored our bags for $5 per bag, which was totally worth it rather than carrying them around the city.
Overall, it was close to everything but still away from the noisy parts of town. We’d definitely stay here again next time we visit Chicago!"
