Clear instructions on how to access the property. Staff were available to answer any questions via WhatsApp. Property was clean and modern despite being in an older building. Lift access to the property. Amazing location, lots of food spots around and a short walk from heritage sites like Castel Sant'Angelo. My only complaint would be there was a weird smell coming from the bathroom/toilet that was unpleasant when we entered the room.

I was very skeptic Al because it was a self check-in. However, our check-in was very smooth. The location is great. Amenities were all great and in perfect condition.

Clean room with extra space, with (classic) elevator, which was an extra bonus to have! Located VERY CLOSE to the Vatican City and Tevere River. Morning strolls along the river with a view of Castello d’Angelo was something that we’ll always remember. It is still walkable to all the major sights within the old city (if you’d like to). Restaurants and convenient stores near by and also there’s a place to store your big luggage for a fee near by until your check-in time. Check-in process is very easy but you won’t get the info until almost on the day of so just relax and wait until you get the check-in procedures thru Whats. Front desk functions is somewhat limited but you can continue communicating with them through WhatsApp so we didn’t have any issues whatsoever. Having fresh pastries and coffee every morning was nice to have for your early start of the day. Thank you so much!!

We had a wonderful stay at Porta Castello Suites! The location was perfect - close to everything. The room was clean, bathroom was spacious, and the AC worked great. The staff was very helpful (usually by email/Whatsapp). The breakfast croissant and coffee was perfect for us.

Great communication with reception regarding check in. Front desk is only open until 1:00 pm or so, but instructions given made things so easy, and room was ready for us when we arrived at 10:00 pm. Room was very neat and tidy; and lady at the front desk was a complete pleasure to talk with; and made sure we were well taken care of. Complimentary croissants were an added bonus. Highly recommended.

6/10 Okay

Disliked: Staff & service
This property is located near Vatican City and lots of neighborhood restaurants. The morning pastries was a nice touch. The room was extremely small and lacked some amenities (the refrigerator was super super small). It did advertise laundry there was not laundry, when we got there they said there was a paid laundry mat down the block. Staff was limited only in the morning. Location was the best part of the stay!

We only stayed one night, but the room was beautiful. Beds were comfortable and there were even 2 sinks in the bathroom! It was close to the Vatican, and close to the Castel Sant Angelo. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean and spacious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The croissants that they had out every morning was actually pretty good, I grabbed one every morning. The property was easily walkable to the Vatican. There was a cafe on the corner that we stopped in a couple times a day for a cappuccino and there is a Gelato place on the opposite corner of the cafe that I am still dreaming about! We would gladly stay here again if we ever come back to Rome.
