The hotel is comfortable, safe and provides a very welcoming feel. Food was delicious and service was excellent. It is far from a lot of the islands sights, shopping and dining but very close to the airport.

Internet connection is really fast in the hotel. If there was an island wide problem with our service provider during the time of your stay, this could be one of the reasons. Hopefully your next visit you wont have to deal with this again.

Excellent choice!
Reception at midnight was very cordial. Our room was very comfortable, with a HIGH king size bed. Very convenient was the extra sink in addition to the one in the bathroom, making things easier for a couple. The meals ( breakfast and dinner) in the on-site Equator restaurant were very good, with the dinner portions quite large. All of the employees were very friendly, especially the servers in the restaurant. Overall we highly recommend Tradewinds!

It was a nice property and feel that staff could have been more tentative. To include: cleaning the pool on a daily basis, taking the couches out on the 3rd floor because they smelled musty and ensuring no bugs are in the kitchen.

Worst customer service. Not enough supplies, housekeeping would come late into the night to bring back clean towels because they don’t have enough supplies to replace them while the dirty ones are being washed. You can tell the building is in need of some type of update because there are mold in the bathrooms. The water runs super slow. Like it takes forever to wash off the soap. Front desk ladies don’t tell you when ppl stop by to visit. I checked out and the first thing the front lady said “I’m sooooo sorry” and I looked at my bf because we didn’t know what happened and she stated that she forgot to call up to our room or send us a memo of ppl stopping by for us to give us stuff to take back home. Just had a bad experience. The owner or whoever needs to invest in renovating this place and buying more supplies. I don’t blame the staff because it is what they have to work with, but management should at least look into these matters and make changes.

The only thing I liked about this place was it was close to everything. Cleanliness was 2/5, when we first got to our room there were mildew stains on one of the pillowcase. Housekeeping would take the dirty towels and some days we wouldn’t have any clean towels due to it being washed. I have never been to a facility where they would take your dirty towels and not have any to replace them. I don’t blame housing keeping because they are limited on supplies, but with the amount of car rentals and rooms this facility have, I’m surprised they don’t invest more into buy more supplies. Housekeeping would have to take all the dirty towels, wash them, and then distribute them back to the rooms. Sometimes, I would I be in my room after six, and house keeping is just delivering clean towels. Also, front desk customer service is the worst. I had called a day in advanced to request a complimentary shuttle from the airport, we arrived and waited 30mins. No one showed up, we had to asked a stranger to use their phone because our phone didn’t work in American Samoa, called the hotel and the front lady said that no one notated it. The hotel is about 10mins away from the airport, and the shuttle showed up another 30mins later. So we waited for a whole hour before getting picked up. There were no taxi’s at the airport because we arrived on a Sunday or else we would have just gotten a taxi. I would write more about how this place has bad customer service but it limits the amount of characters.

Nice property with comfortable beds. This property charged for wifi which was not reliable. Often it would drop or not work at all. I often did not have hot water to shower. Also, staff gave different answers depending on who was at the desk which made things confusing.

Nice property with good rooms. Transportation to and from airport. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Got different info depending who you spoke to on the staff. Lumited hot water. I had about 2 minutes of hot water total during my 3 day stay. Rest of the time only cold water. Paid for wifi that did not constantly work.

The hotel looked good from the outside but inside is a different story. Our unit had a broken marble sink, cracks around the bath, sticky and always dirty wooden floor or toilet tile floor. You always have to wear shoes or slippers inside the room. They do not provide slippers and have to request for a hair dryer. I asked to get our floor cleaned but they didn't use a vacuum. They only provide disposable plastic spoons, forks and paper cups. The bath and sink drains slowly, with a bit of water always stuck on the bath. Customer service is poor. There's no "welcome to tradewinds, let us help you with your luggage" kind of service. You have to ask for a trolley from the unwelcoming security personnelThey sometimes hide under the high podium so they won't see you lol. Restaurant manager wasn't welcoming because we just want the free continental breakfast, which is the most disappointing free breakfast you can ever get. Some fruit, jam on toast, and DIY hot chocolate. Some days they have scones or other bread, lucky if there's a donut. Housekeeping sometimes knocks at 2:30pm for cleaning. Guest laundry has 2 washers that don't wash properly. Either that or just don't use the laundry powder they sell at reception. The upper hallway carpet smells. Gym is old. Pool is nice but has a few broken bricks around the edges. Changing bathrooms are not good. Reception is okay but they need better customer service skills. Hotel manager never got up when needed and avoided guests at all costs

There are not many hotel choices in AmSam. In fact, this was the only hotel that seemed to accept online bookings. Given the lack of competition, the Tradewinds might cut some corners, but it is actually a pretty nice place. Attractive lobby, nice rooms, roomy and comfortable, excellent AC and good WiFi. The staff was nice and helpful. Friendly airport shuttle. One thing I really appreciated was the ease of renting a car through the hotel. Quick, convenient, and not too badly priced. (Also was a high-quality vehicle). The area is pretty unremarkable, but it is close to the airport and in the area when many people live. I would stay here again -- even if there were more choices.

The staff is amazing! Everyone is so kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable, but the air conditioner didn't really dry out the air, so it was always humid in the room and there was mold. The restaurant was great, and the pool was beautiful.

THE place to stay in American Samoa
Visiting American Samoa- the place to stay. Close to the airport with easy access to the rest of the island. Visit the Equator restaurant + adjoining bar. The hand painted walls resemble being in a ship. The staff is super friendly and food is very good- portions are large- so bring your appetite. Free breakfast is Continental- traditional breakfast can be ordered separately.

I don't like doing this, but was very annoyed by them. They took another nights money from a departing guest for a late checkout that left me out of the room till after 7pm. Just had to hang around till the room was ready. Made no attempt to make this right, I emailed to give them a chance to respond in private, ignored it.

By far the best thing about this property are the people. Each and every person from the drivers to the front desk goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. I had a late night departure and after I had checked out of the hotel the day before, the front desk manager provided me with a day rate so I could rest, shower and change before my flight home. The selection of television stations is also great - something you will appreciate if you go to the outer islans. By far the best place to stay in PPG.
