Hampton Inn by Hilton Montreal Downtown

"The room was clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast was very good. I paid with debit and they had to put an additional hold for each night of the stay- I didn’t mind this. Upon check out for the refund of the holds, the receptionist said that I was significantly over charged. I was refunded the whole amount, but that was very strange. When I checked in, I asked about parking but was told there is a place under ground or across the street. Upon check out, I was asked if I needed to be charged for parking… I learned that parking through the hotel gave you a discount and in/out privileges. This was not explained at check in at all when I brought up parking. There are a few complaints online about the breakfast being too busy and having to wait. We never had to wait, there was lots of seating and tons of really good food. It was busy but not too bad (7:30-8:30am). I did see a line growing around 9am and people having to wait to enter. Overall, would stay again, it’s a great location close to Chinatown and old Montreal. The stay was comfortable and safe. Breakfast had the largest selection I have seen for a mid tier hotel."

"At our arrival, we were asked for a $100 security deposit, which could only be paid by credit card. Unfortunately, debit or cash were not accepted. If we hadn’t had a credit card with us, we wouldn’t have been able to check in. Apart from that, everything was great. Our room was originally supposed to be on the first floor, but we asked if it was possible to have a room on a higher floor, and they were kind enough to accommodate us. The rooms are beautiful, well-equipped, and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly, and breakfast was included in our stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!"
