"The Bristow's Inn has a wonderful Victorian character. The room and common areas are nicely furnished with period furniture and decorated with local hand made decorations like quilts, signs. The location is good too. While the communication with the owner was clear and prompt, it was always via email or text. We never saw the owner or any staff which makes the stay a bit impersonal. Some guests may prefer the independent stay, we prefer the human contact. That being said, all instructions and signs are very clear and things, including breakfast are easy to find. Breakfast is self-serve, which is a bit unusual in an inn. It had good variety od bagels, muffins, bread, fruit, yogurts and local jams but it did not feel like anything special as you would expect in an inn or B&B. We still had a nice stay and would return."

"The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The suite was bright and airy but very empty. The velvet couch and chairs were very dirty with dust and hair. The beds were very comfy and clean. The curtains were too long over the air conditioner blocking the air flow so we had to use shoes to hold the curtains back. The provided soap and shampoo had unpleasant fragrance and due to the hard water were hard to wash off. There isn’t enough parking for all guests so we had to park in the free parking a few blocks away. So be prepared for a bit of walking. Overall our stay was pleasant."

"My coffee service did not work. I reported it to Mya, but it was not addressed. It took several minutes for the water to get warm enough to take a shower, maybe 5? And then it was just luke warm. My husband took a shower after me, and he said it was very warm. Parking was appreciated and the location is great."

"A great way to be in the heart of Stratford, walkable to shops and theaters, with separate sleeping areas for teens or older kids, and free underground parking nearby. You just have to be OK with stairs - both to carry your luggage up to your room and down again, because there is no elevator, and to go to the bathroom if you’re sleeping on the main level of your loft-style room. (Also be advised that if you’re sensitive to morning light, and thinking about sleeping late, the skylight in your loft will have other ideas in summer months…) We absolutely love this location, the food at Bentley’s (lunch, dinner and late night/bar, no breakfast) and the recently renovated rooms which include mini fridges, small microwaves and sinks, Keurig coffeemakers, electric teakettles, basic dishes (no bowls) and ironing boards. The WiFi connection using a QR code or password from the TV screen is seamless, and for Michiganders/other Americans the TV has several US channels. But really, if you’re coming to Stratford, don’t sit in your room watching TV - there’s too much else to do!"
