"The hotel was well-situated in the centre of York. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. There were a few small cobwebs around the base of some of the room furniture and the shower room had a stale smell on arrival, which could be associated with the shower not being used, or if the water in the shower trap is siphoned out by water flow from other showers."
"This is such a lovely hotel, we had a twin room on the top floor. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lot of charm. We had breakfast twice and there is plenty to choose from the menu. We also had an evening meal, the prawn cocktail was delicious and they are not shy on the prawns it seemed endless and very fulfilling, followed by salmon and potatoes that was cooked perfectly. The staff were so nice and helpful and nothing was to much .The property itself is a 15 min walk from the train station and in the heart of everything going on . The cathedral was a literally a 2 min walk and the shambles was a 5 min walk . The Xmas market was maybe 5/10 min walk and was charming I came here with my sissy and I plan on returning with my hubby. "
