We really liked the decor of the hotel and it was amazing how quiet it was. We couldn’t hear any street noise but we could hear guests talking as they walked by our door. Also, the lighting in the room was insufficient-it was very hard to see to pack up even with all of the available lights on and because the room was small and cluttered, there wasn’t anywhere to put stuff except on the bed.

Elegant haven in the middle of a good area for multicultural dining (try beku for ice cream and the attached wine bar) within walking distance of shopping areas etc Rooms well designed with everything you need and very quiet.

I stayed at this property 21 to 26 of March. I was charged in excess of $2,000. Staff were nice but nothing over the top. The housekeeping was terrible with each day being different from the last. The staff need to be told this and go through update of duties. Beds were made haphazardly and we were not always given milk for tea. The floor was not always vacuumed to any sort of standard. The room was very noisy being at the front of Lygon Street. The glass surrounding the toilet and shower is quite comical. Certainly married couples would not really mind but travelling couples do and I feel something should be done. All in all I found our stay extremely disappointing and would never recommend the hotel to anyone. The Lord Lygon is another matter and this restaurant was a real treat and one of the nicest restaurants on our trip. Staff there were wonderful.

Tha Zagame’s House Hotel is fabulous! The location is located near the Museum in the Carlton district. It is right the heart of some great restaurants and 15 walk to the downtown core. The rooms are wonderful in a contemporary modern style. They are well maintain, clean, and housekeeping is outstanding. Checkin and checkout was seamless. The breakfast at 1851 Coffee Kitchen is excellent and Lord Lygon restaurant is a great place for dinner and drinks to wind down your day. GOLD Stars for this property!
