My family and I arrived at 2.30pm for a 3pm check in, because we knew we would have to park off site as the hotel only has 30 car spaces, and they were already taken. I parked the car, and waited in the lobby for our room to be ready. 3pm arrived and I returned to the front desk to get our room keys, and we were informed our room would not be ready until 4.30! We were told we could use the pool, and once our room was ready we would get a call from reception. We went to the pool and it was freezing! Even though their website said it was heated year round. After an hour, we got changed and went back up to the lobby. At 4.30 we were given our room key and told that we were going to be given complementary breakfast in the morning for the inconvenience. After opening the door to our room, I noticed crumbs on the floor, an hour an half apparently wasn’t long enough to vacuum the carpet. The next morning, we ordered our breakfast, gave our room number, and we were told the sides would cost an extra $4 each. The front desk hadn’t told the cafe that our breakfast was to be complementary, thankfully the waitress was very understanding after hearing about our check in experience and cleared up the misunderstanding. Overall our stay was not the best, and will will not be returning. A shame because the kids room was very good, and the staff did try their best with what they could do. But management needs to make some serious changes to accommodate guests better in the future.
