"I don’t understand the excellent reviews at this hotel. The hotel was in a great location. However the room was very dated and smelled of mildew and mold. Shower was filthy. Furniture was falling apart. Would not stay here again. "

"Very small room w/ a queen bed. Barely moved around the bed. Room was filled with dust... like literally dust everywhere. On the bed lamp, table/desk covered with dust as if no one ever stayed/cleaned there... carpet floor is very sticky and damp... the smell of room was very mouldy... But!!! The location and price are golden. It is located in the center of Chicago downtown and so close to everything. Only 4min walk from red line metro, We walked everywhere. And it is very safe around the hotel even at night. We were busy exploring the city of Chicago so didnt mind of the condition of the room much since we were going to just get some sleep and get out again during the days. It got really cold at night (late Apr.) but the room has no heater, we asked fromt desk to see if we can get extra blankets and staff was so nice to offer us a small portable heater. If you are looking for something affordable, just to lay your head down at night but somewhere close to downtown, pier and riverwalk, this is the place that you need to pick to stay."

"I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The room was very old and had a strong unpleasant smell as soon as we entered. The bed was also too short and uncomfortable, making it impossible to rest properly. Because of these issues, we decided to leave after only one hour and could not continue our stay. I would not recommend this hotel."

"I never made it to hotel due to airline canceling flight. The hotel would not give me full refund for something that was out of my control. I WOULD NEVER BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL AGAIN. there should be courtesy given when your flight is canceled and you have no way to get there. "

"The staff were all very nice - zero complaints there. There were a few other things though that were disappointing, though. The typically fitted sheet was flat (fine) but it was too small for the bed and didn't reach top to bottom so we were sleeping on the mattress cover. There was also only one roll of toilet paper stocked in the room for our two night stay, no coffee maker (even instant pouches would have been fine). There were also very slim TV channel options nd the premium ones were 'blocked or scrambled' (we were working during the day and looking to chill in the room at night). One other thing is that there is ZERO soundproofing in the hallways -- we were there while the hotel was full of College Formal attendees, and we were woken up several times through the night (we love a good party, but even when just talking normally we could hear every.single.word) into the wee hours. Overall, location is stellar, the hotel is pretty, but the amenities are slim. You shouldn't count on any extras in the room. "
