"Immaculate, peaceful with welcoming and helpful staff. Our room had a great view and I liked the design of the hotel so it was a lovely place to be, and cleverly placed at the side of a bay and also easily and quickly accessible by car. Big thank you to everyone for making our stay so lovely"

"The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were great. The only things missing were a kettle and an iron. We requested a kettle which you can do and were provided with a coffee maker which was ok but a kettle would have been better."

"A lovely bright and airy hotel with great rooms. The staff were kind and friendly and breakfast was delicious. Brand new only open a month so I’m glad we discovered it before it gets busy which is no doubt will. "

"Booked last minute as flight cancelled so needed overnight accommodation. Staff were wonderful. Room was ideal for our needs with free water & soft drinks in mini bar. Breakfast was included which is one of the best I’ve ever had in a spectacular setting, will return."

"All meals were very good, food was replenished before it was needed so it was always fresh. There was always a good variety, and it seemed to have a good variety of vegan options (I am not vegan). Drinks were served in smallish glasses but they use quality alcohol. No waitstaff in at the pool or in the bar, but that may have been because of the time of year. Our room was clean and spacious with a very large balcony and a great shower and very comfortable beds. Rooms were cleaned early in the day. A couple days before arrival I received an email th check in. During the process you are asked the time of arrival. We were arriving at 8:30 am we got to the resort and our rooms were ready and waiting for us! They have a free shuttle to take you to Funchal 3 times a day. The hotel is beautiful, the pool area is huge and well maintained. Highly recommend anyone to stay here."

"We were welcomed and given a tour of the historic hotel by the front desk upon arrival. The room upgrade was to a suite overlooking the bay. The room, bed, and bath were clean and comfortable. A small gift arrived each day of our stay. The 1891 Bar proved to be an excellent alternative as we preferred early and smaller dinners. The Christmas brunch had excellent food options; it was a buffet next to the pools. The staff were most helpful on check out, holding our luggage until our rental car had been secured and we were ready for the next leg of our journey."

"We were pleased to have our room available for early check in (1 pm) as it was a rainy day. Check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. Breakfast choices were excellent although the buffet room often became crowded. Breakfast staff were efficient in removing plates, cleaning tables. We had appetizers and wine at the Noz Restaurant and the hummus and olive tapenade was excellent. Check-out early in the morning (4:30 am) was efficient and helpful. Amenities over New Years were excellent. The location is Old Town Funchal is near to many activities and sights."
