Four Seasons in Funchal

"Very good location near historic old town. A few minutes walk from the Aerobus (airport to town public transport) stop. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were all very welcoming and gave advice on local trips etc.... Glad we chose to stay here."

"The room we were given on the 4th floor was extremely dated & needed an urgent overhaul! The drawers inside the wardrobe were old & falling apart. The safe wouldn't work. The balcony furniture was like something out of the 1960's. The carpet was old & dirty looking & the shower knob came off in our hands! I realise the building is iconic & is a listed building but this room was not reflective of a supposed 5* hotel! The hotel was not cheap either. The staff at the bar were friendly & welcoming however the reception staff were spoke with were the opposite, unfriendly & dismissive. If your room is near the city it is VERY noisy! "

"We couldn’t fault this hotel. Good location. Room was spacious, cleaned daily. Lovely rooftop with great views over Funchal which includes a spacious pool area /bar / restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed on half board, great choice at buffet breakfast. Dinner was a lovely three course, which we enjoyed every night during our five night stay. Would highly recommend."
