"Although the property is undergoing renovations, staff apprised in advance so it was not a surprise when we arrived. And! the workmen were not only accommodating but quite genial. The room was well appointed and the amenities were great (love the biscuits!). The complimentary breakfast is really tasty with a lot of choices. Best.hotel.ever!!!"

"On arrival checking in was easy reception staff very helpful.We had a first floor room which was clean,shower over bath was not brilliant.The room had a fusty smell as though it had been smoked in or damp???? Dinner was very good really delicious and piping hot.Breakfast would have been brilliant if it had been piping hot but it was just warm! "

"Rooms are like ovens. Forget using this hotel if you can't sleep with heat. It's horrendous. No air conditioning, just red hot rooms with no air flow. Windows are thin and road noise is super loud. Avoid this place "

"We had an goid stay at Macdonald Bear Hotel. The staff were excellent throughout, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Our room was a good size and the location is fantastic, especially for exploring Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. Breakfast was ok, decent options but limited buffet. The room itself was a little dated and it wasn’t the quietest stay, mainly due to some very loud air con, even though it was turned off but sounded like rushing water. Overall a pleasant experience thanks to the great service and convenient location."

"Very old building, yet very charming. Many small sitting areas to read and to relax and they are really very cute. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful. A great experience for me. "
