The hotel's location near the main train stations, Liverpool One shopping district, and the university is convenient. The room was clean and well-maintained, featuring a small desk for working travellers. Although there was no iron or board in the room, the staff promptly provided one upon request. The bar, which also serves breakfast, offers a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Breakfast was a la carte and of good quality. The hotel's conversion from an older industrial building gives it character but will present accessibility challenges for some guests. Additionally, there was some noise, but it wasn't a major issue. The staff stood out for their exceptional helpfulness and friendliness.

Great hotel great breakfast great service the bar boutique is excellent the service in there is fantastic the rooms are great easy access to Liverpool and parking just round the corner is so easy to get to the hotel with your luggage

I booked a smaller room than usual, and was worried the bed wouldn’t be big enough (I’m a pretty big guy, and I was sharing with my wife). It was bigger than it looked, and we had a great sleep at the end of a great night. The bar makes an amazing Tiramisu Espresso Martini, too.

The shower was constructed so that it would always flood the bathroom floor, the shower worked well but was too open to the bathroom

What a little diamond of a hotel, very friendly staff really clean and room 303 was very spacious with everything you need. Very good breakfast selection off a menu from a full English to omelette to a bowl of granola, bar was small but quaint and ideal to have a nice drink in the evening. Public parking just round the corner that I got a discount on from the hotel and could walk to all the sightseeing attractions in Liverpool, highly recommend

Another superb stay at Lock & Key. Always one of our 2/3 go to’s when in Liverpool. Nicely decorated room with everything we could ever possibly need. Huge Bed in a very spacious room. Staff brilliant as always and couldn’t do enough for us. Great location around local amenities.

Absolutely loved this hotel, such a great vibe. Outstanding customer care, nothing is too much trouble and you are really made to feel welcome. Very modern and loved our room 201 it was stunning, the bed was out of this world. Ok the bathroom well I say cupboard is not good but the room it’s self makes up for it as it was huge and just simple stunning. Will definitely return.

This hotel is an absolute necessity to anyone’s itinerary in Liverpool. A complete reflection of the community, authentic and clean i will be back specifically because of this hotel. Cannot beat the convenience of this location. Only used Uber from the train station and to the hotel everything you need to see from the Beatles to Albert Docks and shopping are within steps of this property. Thank you again.

Excellent stay
The staffs were super friendly and accommodating, made us feel very welcomed. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. Really comfy bed and excellent shower. Excellent location just next to Liverpool One, bus and rail stations are of walking distance. Next time when I am in town I’ll definitely be staying in this hotel again.

Our stay at Lock and Key was incredible. Right in the middle of the city centre so no need for an Uber or taxi. Luke was very kind to help assist us in getting medical attention when we arrived with a small emergency. Very kind and friendly staff! Would definitely recommend staying here and would return in the future!

Lock and Key is in a wonderful spot to do all the city tours and Liverpool One is across the road but you don’t hear any city noises x quirky rooms and wonderful staff x the room was hot due to the weather but the staff did everything they could to make it better for us, they went above and beyond x highly recommend x

Great place to stay in central Liverpool
Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Stayed 2 nights for a graduation day. Quirky hotel with a good vibe and original style. Needs some attention to detail..e.g leaky shower head, missing lightbulbs, dusty window blinds. Don't be put off by these, it's clearly still a project under restoration. Handy bar/ cafe next door which does great breakfasts and cook cocktails

This was my first time at the hotel and I was disappointed. I stayed 3 nights and the room I had was very hot and extremely noisy as a family live next door and their courtyard was outside the window. I did not sleep for the 3 nights. Also the room was not adequate, there were no tea / coffee making facilities until the third day, no water or fridge, no glasses to drink from and it was very basic. I also was surprised there was no bedside table and the plug by the bed was not accessible. The receptionist apologised but this did not really compensate the inadequacies. On a positive I had breakfast 1 day and it was very nice.

The room was comfortable. There were more stairs than we expected and no elevator. I have issues walking and the stairs were difficult for me but the staff was nice and helpful. We did have a pigeon who decided to sleep on the window sill outside and it was really noisy but the hotel can't be held responsible for the local wildlife. I would not mind staying here again.

This is an very old building with no elevator, so we have to halt our luggage through the stairs. The location of the hotel is very good, close to the shopping mall and the Royal Albert Dock.
