Really enjoyed our stay at Riverside Arashiyama. Staff we very kind and accommodating, the room was comfortable, and the location is perfect for walking to everything!

Room was clean and tidy. Reasonable room size, fridge and bathroom area. Good surprise to have a microwave oven and free coffer 24 hours a day and free bread in the morning (though the free packaged juices were average). The down sides are The safe didn't work (probably no power) and was too small anyway. Our room was at the farthest end of the corridor, quite a long walk. We understand it was due to the shape of the building.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is close to Hanyk Arashiyama Station, and short walking distance from the main attractions in the area. Premises seems to be an apartment building turned into a hotel, so has the feeling of a home away from home. Simple, clean and well equipped accomodation.

Spacious room/apartment.
This was not a hotel but should be advertised as an apartment. There was a kitchenette with a microwave. There was no daily cleaning so if staying for more than 2 nights clean dry towels might be a problem. No on site eating area. You had to walk some distance across the river to find anything to do and eat. Because of this I would stay somewhere on that side of the river if I visited again!

Not a hotel...Many bugs
This place is not a hotel. It is more like a motel. The door to your room is outside near a little creek (with standing water). There is a light outside above the door that you cannot turn off and attracts many bugs. If you intend to go out in the evening or open the door at all, many bugs will come inside the room. It was a bad sign when we walked into the room and there was a can of bug spray by the door. The hallway is swarmed with bugs in the evening. My fiance and I couldnt sleep in that room, there was too many bugs that came inside. We ended up leaving that same night and just forfeiting our money. The staff speaks English very well but they disappear in the evening (due to bugs in the lobby as well). Would not recommend this place in the summer time.

We stayed in 3 different hotels in Japan. So far this is the best. Checking in is so easy. The receptionist is very kind and helpful. The room is big and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this one.

Large cosy room and clean bathroom. Very friendly and helping staff. Soft bed and pillows. Even though check in time is 5pm I was kindly assisted earlier. Good attitude, good amenities and comfortability. When it comes to disadvantages, during the rain something (probably a part of gutter system) made a terrible noise. The rest was ok. Recommended for all travellers. Просторный и чистый номер. Очень дружелюбное отношение работника ресепшен. Мягкие подушки и удобная кровать. Несмотря на то, что заселение в пять вечера, мне разрешили заехать раньше. Доброе отношение, хорошие условия проживания. Из недостатков только одно - во время дождя ночью начался ужасный шум (предположительно от части канализационной системы). Все остальное было отлично. Рекомендую пушешественникам.

Me and my children loved this property. It was across the street from the arashiyama station, convenience stores, eateries, an onsen, and many site seeing spots. It was several minutes walk away from the monkey park, the bamboo forest, the kimono forest, an owl cafe, saga arashiyama station. I loved it. It was quiet and I could hear the river several feet away from my bed. Very nice.

Relaxing in Arashiyama
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was exactly what we had hoped for--spacious, clean and comfortable for four people--and even better once we realized how much less crowds there were in that part of Arashiyama. Easy access to the train station (Hankyu line, not JR) and a convenience store, plenty of dining options, and the river and monkey park were an easy hike away. Little farther to the bamboo forest and temples, but taxis were plentiful and cheap. Great stay--would definitely go again.

Very good location and friendly staff! Amazing beds, very soft and cozy. Spacious rooms, unfortunately no cutlery provided except cups and mugs. Close to Arashiyama area and subways.

actually, I don't need any extra services for just a night. However, this type of guest house is very convenient and especially this was so great in its cleaness and comfortable bed.

Nice place a bit out of the way
This is a nice place to stay. It's about 5 minutes from the subway station but 20 from a JR station, so be advised. It is not technically a hotel as they have no housekeeping, but they give you a generous amount of towels per person. The beds were nice and the bathroom amazing. They also have a few dishes and a microwave along with the fridge/freezer. I definitely recommend it if you don't mind being a bit out of the way. It was very quiet here.

it was not on google maps, the taxi driver did not know where it was, even though I had showed him the reservation confirmation address. The taxi driver called the telephone number, but it was a cell phone number that didn't answer. When we finally arrived,...an hour later, they told us there was no cleaning service,..really?!?!?? AND even though it was called RIVERSIDE ARASHIYAMA, the actual river was far, with absolutely no view.

お風呂のお湯が出ず、ホテルスタッフの方にその旨告げるのに、ロビーまで行きロビーにある電話を使わないと繋がらないという面倒臭さがあった。（告げた後はお湯が出た） 朝のサービスのパンが6時からと聞いていたが、6時に取りに行った時にはまだ準備できておらず、数分経ってから、スタッフの方が見えて準備を始めていた。 上記以外は、まずまずの施設でした。

犬の一緒に泊まれる部屋を利用しました。 犬と一緒に過ごせるスペースは土間になっており、ケージ、犬用ベッド、そのほか犬用のアイテムが揃えられていました。ベッドやシャワールームは清潔感があってとても少しよかったです。 脇に川があり、流れる水の音も落ち着けました。 犬と一緒のベッドに寝たいなという願望も込めて、総合は⭐️4つですが、でもとても快適に過ごすことができました。嵐山にワンちゃんといくなら、おすすめのホテルです。
