"Great rural location (i am not a golfer), really nice room, clean and comfortable and reasonably stylish. Only let downs were; paper thin walls so could hear quiet conversations in the adjacent rooms, and a noisy shower (neighbour showered at 1am!). it was a heatwave; room fans were provided but it would have been good to fully ventilate the rooms. Due to work commitments i had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on that."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kingston?
The best area to stay in Kingston is the town centre, particularly around the riverside and the main shopping streets.

This neighbourhood is the primary hub for visitors and locals alike. It's very walkable and features a mix of historic buildings and modern amenities, with the Hogsmill River and the Thames flowing through it. The main shopping areas like Clarence Street and the Bentall Centre are easily accessible, and the famous Kingston Market is a central point of activity.

Couples will find the town centre ideal for a relaxing and enjoyable trip. You can enjoy strolls along the Thames Path, dine at one of the many riverside restaurants, or explore the varied independent shops. The proximity to Richmond Park offers a lovely escape for a leisurely walk or bike ride.

For those looking for convenience and access to transport, staying close to Kingston Station is a practical choice. From here, you have direct train links into central London, making it easy to combine a more relaxed stay in Kingston with day trips to the capital's attractions.
When is the best time to go to Kingston?
The best time to visit Kingston is typically during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is generally mild and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the town's attractions and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting places like Hampton Court Palace or walking along the riverside.

For those who prefer warmer weather and don't mind more people, July and August offer the highest temperatures and longest daylight hours. This is great for enjoying the Thames River and the many outdoor dining options. However, you should expect busier streets and attractions during this time.

Winter (November to March) can be quite chilly and damp, but if you're interested in shopping or the festive season, Kingston has a top Christmas market and plenty of indoor activities.
Where can I find the best nightlife in Kingston?
Kingston upon Thames, often just called Kingston, offers a range of nightlife options, primarily centred around the town centre.

The area around Clarence Street and High Street is particularly active. You'll find a good selection of traditional pubs here, many of which have outdoor seating. There are also several bars and a few late-night venues that play popular music, attracting a younger crowd on weekends.

For a more relaxed evening, the riverside area, particularly along Bishop's Hall and the adjacent paths, features several restaurants and bars with outdoor terraces. These places are ideal for a drink with views of the River Thames and are generally quieter than the main high street.

Further into the residential areas, you'll find some local pubs that offer a more community-focused experience, often with quiz nights or live acoustic music on certain evenings.
