"Definitely a different type of property. > Room: Beds on a platform one step above the floor. Digital controls. Decent shower. In room fridge would not get cold. TV signal was spotty. Sink did not drain well. Told they had filtered water and ice but the machines did not work. Besides the concern about tripping off the step, the room was fine. > Cafe: I had used their online ordering which took my order and claimed it charged my room. Upon going down to pick it up, I was told their online ordering 'doesn't work'. When I attempted to re-order breakfast they told me they were now serving lunch. When I attempted to order something from the menu, they told me they didn't have it. Each of the three mornings I tried to order they were out (drip coffee, yogurt, sandwich). > Lobby 'private guest lounge': advertised as coffee/tea/water/fruit in the morning, 6 - 10am. Each of the three mornings I went down the 'hot water' was luke warm. Only one day was there fruit. > $45 amenities charge: Supposedly for the gym and wellness classes. The first morning I was there the class was cancelled."

"Absolutely enjoyed my stay. Thank you to Jennifer at reception for making check in a breeze. She made sure to tell me about all the amenities, perks and gave advice about the neighboring restaurants and activities. Humberto was super helpful with helping me to my room. Everyone is just absolutely kind and welcoming. The room is clean and newly renovated. The breakfast is incredible at bond. Cannot wait to come back."

"I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve stayed at The Ridge. It’s the only place I stay in Manhattan- 3-4 times a year. It feels like staying with friends—I always know I’m in good hands. Despite what you might read elsewhere there is a staffed front desk (some of the friendliest people you’ll meet) & luggage storage. They go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable often allowing early check-in or late check-out if they can. Each room has a microwave/ mini fridge & with a Whole Foods just two blocks away it’s easy to keep things budget-friendly. The rooms aren’t huge but they’re clean & have everything I need. There’s even an HDMI TV—I always plug in my Roku stick. Perhaps, one of the best features is the rooftop terrace -with breathtaking city views. The location is perfect—walkable to Little Italy, Chinatown, Washington Square, the East Village, Katz’s, Russ & Daughters & Yonah Schimmel Knishes just a block away. The subway is a quick 3-minute walk. I travel solo & I’ve always felt safe here-day or night. Yes, there’s street noise—it’s New York—but a white noise app solves that. For the price & convenience The Ridge can’t be beat. I almost didn’t write this because it feels like my secret hidden gem but it truly deserves the praise. Huge thanks to Jasmine, Wilma, Edgard, Orlando, & the young man who had to keep delivering packages to my room on my recent stay. If anything comes up, just ask— they handle everything quickly & kindly. I’ll never stay anywhere else!"

"If you're planning on taking public transportation from the airport or around town - this location could not be better. Being connected to GCS made getting around so easy! The hotel itself is fine. They let us check into our room at 9:30am without any issue. The bathroom had a mildew-y smell and the hot water wasw luke at best, but overall ok. The beds were comfortable. And the hotel was pretty quiet. I would stay here again."

"In the morning I couldn't receive a receipt that I needed because nobody was there in the front desk. And still haven't been shared after 5 hours passed from the check out time ended. The room was not like the one originally promised to have. Dissappointing."

"The room was clean. Staff friendly and helpful. There are shops and restaurants nearby. The bed was not as advertised. We were promised a queen or two twin beds. We got a small full size mattress. The property is very dated. No couch, just a futon which was so low to the ground it was very difficult to get up from. The phones in the room didn’t work so thankfully we didn’t have an emergency. There was one small tv in the living area that didn’t work. The staff came up and finally got a few channels on it. No TV in the bedroom. There was a window a/c unit in the bedroom and a portable a/c in the living area. They worked but their remotes didn’t always work. It was easy to get an Uber or Lyft. The next time I’m in NYC I will spend a little more if needed to get a nicer hotel with more amenities."

"Hotel Indigo is a good lodging option if: - You'd like a spacious room - we are a family of four with two kids and we had enough space to comfortably move around the room. NYC hotels are notoriously small but the rooms here are adequate. - You want to stay off the mid-town beaten path; Hotel Indigo is located near major train stops (F and J), surrounded by food options (try Johnny's Pizza!), and it's 20 min away from the city, but close enough that you can easily walk to and through East and West Villages. - Loud club music doesn't phase you or you're a deep sleeper and sleep like a rock. Don't stay here if you want sleep at the end of long days. The hotel has a bar called Mr. Purple on the 15th floor. On Fridays and Saturdays, the sound and music thumps so loudly that it cascades to each floor. That's all to say if your'e stay includes either or both of these days, request a room furthest away from the elevator. This helps a lot. As will ear plugs - bring them! The hotel does not provide any. However, also request a room that doesn't face the streets as the street sounds will keep you up. I recognize this sounds picky, but believe me when I say that noise until 4am feels brutal when you just want to sleep. But hey this is NYC and city sounds are expected. Overall, the stay was fine given we were away until late night. If sleepless nights don't affect you, Hotel Indigo is a good hotel option."
