"Stopped over on cleveland way. Had a long hot day and was ready to get feet up. Got sorted on arrival quickly and settled. Had a good meal especially the tomato soup. Slight hiccup with breakfast arrangement but got resolved quickly, would recommend a stopover."

"Fantastic cottage with very friendly ans welcoming hosts, approx 10 minutes from Flamingo Land. Cottage has everything we needed for a few nights stay for a family of 3. The welcome pack left for us was very thoughtful and the fresh, home made bread was delicious. Very much recommended for those wanting a good base to spend a few days exploring the area."

"We had a wonderful four night stay at Launde Barn near York, and it was everything we’d hoped for and more. The barn is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing break. It strikes the perfect balance between rustic character and modern comfort.The location is ideal: peaceful and rural, yet close enough to York and also to the coast for easy day trips.The sauna is a lovely addition which we really enjoyed making use of.In the nearby village there is a pub that we visited for Sunday lunch. It's a short walk away from the property and the food was excellent.There is also a decent bus service from the village into York.The hosts clearly take great pride in the property. Communication was excellent from start to finish, with clear instructions and helpful local tips. It felt welcoming from the moment we arrived, and all the little details had clearly been considered.Overall, Launde Barn we had a truly relaxing and memorable short break. We strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable countryside stay near York, and we would happily return ourselves."

"My friend and I had a girlie two night break at this hotel and loved it. When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience. We had a sitting room (with verandah) which was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker, selection of high quality teas. There was a large bathroom and a super king size bed. Breakfast was nice, not outstanding but nice. The swimming pool was the big treat. Beautifully warm and the highlight of the stay. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly. This hotel is special and situated next to the Market Square which had lovely coffee shops, quaint shops and enticing pubs. Can’t wait to go back so thank you to all the staff especially Ali xxxxxx"

"Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here."

"We had a wonderful stay at Snowdrop cottage.Such a lovely little village well situated for walks, York, Whitby and lots of historical sites.The cottage is absolutely beautiful, very cosy and furnished/decorated to a very high standard. The hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need, kitchen is very well equipped and the whole place is a home from home. Loved the log burner and the hot tub was blissful, a lovely way to wind down and relax after a day bimbling around! The hosts provide a very comprehensive guide which was incredibly useful, and the welcome cakes from the local deli were delicious and very welcome!Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage "
