Pebbles Place, perfectly situated within walking distance to Hove Promenade

Pebbles Place is a truly, lovely apartment (Karen's very first flat, in fact) which is in a brilliant location, walking distance to Hove beach, Portland Road's eclectic shops, Hove Station and Brighton by foot or frequent bus services. A true home from home with original, rustic floorboards, a comfy, spacious lounge which has 2 single sofa beds, SMART TV and gas central heating. The bedroom has a solid pine king size bed with plenty of hanging space for clothes and a hairdryer and the sidelights can change colour to create the perfect ambience. There is another separate reception room which has a dining table for 4 people and an office desk in the corner with free speedy WiFi. The recently installed kitchen has a fridge, microwave, gas oven and hob and a breakfast bar plus all the bits you would expect in your home-from-home kitchen. The bathroom has a bathtub and an overhead shower with a separate WC. There is a small (basic) backyard, if you do decide to sit outside, but much better to wander down to the beach or try out one of the eateries nearby where pubs, cafes and restaurants. Please note, the apartment accommodates a maximum of 4 guests.

Awful from start to finish

I booked this property to visit family and celebrate my son’s 30th Birthday. I sent regular messages to the host to ask for an earlier check in if possible, so that we could get ready for the party which started at 4pm. She stated that we had to see if the cleaners were finished when we got there. We arrived at 2.50 (3 pm check in ) to find the bed stripped, the dirty laundry in a pile on the floor and a very dirty property. Tried to contact the host immediately ( as she states that should be done ) with no joy. Then a message received so I replied and told her of problems. She stated the cleaner would be there soon as she had forgotten to tell them about the clean being needed ( this after stating a week before that we would have to wait until the cleaners had finished before we could check in ). We had no towels , the bathroom was dirty from previous guests and the boiler switched off which led to low pressure , thus no hot water. We could not shower or get ready for my son’s party. The cleaner arrived at 4.10 , just as we were leaving for the party , with no towels or bedding. It had been cleaned when we returned but too little too late. We took photos of the mould, overgrown outside space , peeling paintwork and out of date milk/biscuits left for guests at the request of VRBO complaints team , who are in full agreement of the awful state of this property. It’s a shame I can’t post them. Rude, unhelpful host who thinks a 60 refund is appropriate. AVOID BOOKING HERE

Nice, comfortable flat. Tired in places.

We we're disappointed as the listing. We wouldn't have travelled so far. The hot tub in the listing was the reason we picked the property
