"This was the perfect landing spot for the night during our recent west coast road trip. The host provided clear, detailed information before our arrival and we had no issues checking in late at night. There is no cell service but the wifi was strong and reliable enough to use wifi calling. The next morning we enjoyed the provided coffee sitting outside in the crisp August morning while taking in the views. A luxury we do not have at home in the summer. "This is a beautiful, old hotel, right in downtown Arcata. Location is super convenient and the vibe is cool. The room we stayed in was tiny, with only a double bed, but we knew that going in. The biggest downside was the noise at night. Being in the heart of downtown means you are very close to the bars and noises of a college town. We stayed on a Saturday night and the next morning we asked at the front desk if it was always that noisy. The desk clerk was very polite and helpful and said it is hit or miss, but advised that next time we could ask for an interior room, which would be less noisy. Parking is tough as most of the spots nearby are 2 hours only during the day."
