"The tranquility of the place the peacefulness the wonderful staff nothing was too much from the time we arrived the staff were superb. The ammenities fabulous. This hotel was at another level we stayed 2 nights breakfast was amazing and delicious the rooms were excellent the bed so comfortable very clean !!! 10/10 I didn’t want to leave !!! "My second stay at Kyoto Brighton. Love the atrium hall and the comfortable cafeteria which I use very often for lunch and teatime. The manner of each staff is perfect! The room is very clean and comfortable, The Japanese style breakfast has various tasty plates. Some plates were a little bit salty, but the kombu tea eye-opner was equisite! The buffet style dinner was enjoyable. It will be perfect if there were more variety of wine, both in bottles and glasses. Looking forward to seeing the renewal opening in two years!"

"Pros: - The rooms were spacious compared to most Japanese hotel rooms. It was nice to have a more traditional tatami style room. - The breakfast buffet had an incredible selection to choose from. There’s a bit of a wait depending on when you go, but it goes rather quickly. - Late night unlimited ramen from 9pm-11pm was also a nice touch. We loved being able to eat a light meal after a long day of exploring. - Onsen access is really nice, with massage chairs available for use. And unlimited ice cream every night was also really delicious. Cons: - Having guests take off their shoes at the lobby makes the place smell like feet. It’s pretty gross since it was raining when we were there so it was a mix of wet socks and feet stench. They should at least require that people wear hotel rooms slippers. - The onsen was really dirty from the amount of people that would use the facilities. It was overcrowded and packed during the night time. Overall, I’d stay at this hotel again, but refrain from using public facilities. It’s almost impossible to keep the public areas clean and free of smells since there are so many guests."

"I stayed at Resi Nishijin in Kyoto with my family of 4 and the room was big and well equipped. Clean and beds were comfortable. The washing machine was handy and the space was appreciated. The area whilst quiet is connected well with buses. There is a bus stop right outside. It is about 25mins walk to the golden pavilion. It is a 20-25min bus ride back to Kyoto Station and about 3600 Yen via taxi to the Station as Buses don’t allow big luggages on board - although I saw many foreigners do this during our bus ride. Get an all day bus pass for 1100 yen - good value. Google maps works well to help get you around. If you prefer to be closer to Kyoto station - then this isn’t the place for you but we appreciated the space of the room so it worked for us. Staff at reception were nice and we had a free shuttle to the hotel but had to book a taxi for our ride back to Kyoto station after checkout. Plenty of nice places to eat around the hotel and supermarket across the street. Lifts were available too."
