I had a late check-in by a friendly, polite, English speaking receptionist. My room was small and windowless but super clean, nicely furnished, well fitted out for a small space and bed comfortable. However, for two people or a longer stay than one night, the room would have felt claustrophobic. As with many Vietnamese hotels, sounds carry through easily into the room and there were two small 'windows' high up below the ceiling that let in light from the outside corridor. The biggest drawback for me was a strange, sickly, chemical smell in the room. Couldn't figure out where it came from (maybe the varnish of the dresser??) and since there were no windows, couldn't air it out. Since I only stayed overnight, I didn't bother to change rooms but had I stayed longer, I definitely would have since I even woke up in the night to this smell. Breakfast was your usual choice of a couple of things: omelette, noodle soup, toast.. which was ok. Location is excellent, very close to the night market, lake, puppet theatre, restaurants.. Beware that if you arrive during the weekend when the night market is on, some roads are closed and you may not be able to get a ride all the way to the hotel. All in all, very nice looking and clean place but the smell spoilt it for me
