Second time staying at the Castle Inn. While dated, it’s still maintained well, comfortable, and clean. Bathrooms are upgraded, too. You can’t beat the price for the location. I’ll definitely stay there again next time I’m in SF.

Carpets very dirty. Elevators out of service ( only one working) NO restaurant or bar ( it was always closed) and the area is not the best. I lt seems it was a beautiful hotel but now looks deteriorating.

If you want budget accommodation this is for you. Nothing like the photos on Expedia. But it's still ok accommodation. Make sure you pack ear plugs, as the walls a very thin.

The staff are very friendly and it was very clean. However, it was loud and you heard everyone who walked by your room. The lights in the hallway outside are also very bright and show through under the window curtains. Another bummer is that there is extremely limited parking and you often have to find street parking.
