"The resort was beautiful and the staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would book another stay at a Roy Resort without hesitation. I do wish there were more activities to do during the day. The pool and/or the ocean were the only options."

"Stay far far away from this property. Not only are they dishonest their facilities are poorly maintained and the staff is pathetically inattentive. There are so many better places to stay in Playa Del Carmen. I strongly suggest you do not stay here. If you do decide to stay at this location, do not leave any valuables in the open. Lock everything up in a safe place in your luggage. "

The property is beautiful but it's showing its age The reason I probably won't go back is because the smell from the seaweed made me nauseous. It's too bad they aren't doing anything to clean up the coastline."

"If I could fix my choice of hotel, I would ask for this: 1.Immediate access to walkable, swimmable beach. You cannot walk on the beach from this hotel. Swimming also does not look safe there because of parked boats and rocky shore. "private beach with pristine white sand shores" is basically a lie, except for "private". 2.Also the seaweed situation is terrible, we should have gone to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres, mainland facing beaches there are unaffected by seaweed. 3.Softer pillows and beds, ideally with separate blankets for each person. Even my teenage son complained about the pillows. 4.Put handle bars on the outer side of spiraling stairs, so that stairs and handle bars do not disappear at the same time. My mom fell and sprained her ankle on the first day. 5.Bigger pool, this pool is a joke."
