LIC Manhattan View Hotel

"There are so many great things about this hotel and one really not great thing. The staff were wonderful, the location was great, the view was beautiful, and our bed was comfortable. But- and this is a big but for us- the air conditioning is not working properly. Our first room on the 11th floor was 76 degrees and would not go down. We notified the staff who said they’d send someone to fix it- we came back and it was at the same temperature. Then I asked again- they said they’d send someone. After thirty minutes of no one coming, I went down again. He switched our room to a bigger room with a manhattan view but when we entered- it was 78 degrees. Luckily it had a haphazard portable AC that we stuck right next to our face so we were able to sleep but the room itself never cooled down so we left as early as we could in the morning. Reading other more recent reviews- this appears to be an ongoing problem and I wish I had known because I would’ve booked somewhere else (because I hate being hot while I sleep). Just wanted to make sure I shared so others were aware!"

"Great property overall. Breakfast had tons of options, rooms were very clean and modern and the staff were friendly. This hotel is located 3 minutes to the subway and train stations and was a place I would stay again for another trip. The views from the room let you see the entire city. Highly recommend and don’t know why it’s not a 5 star property."

"Beware, this hotel is horrible. The customer service at the front desk is rude. The rooms on the second floor are disgusting. Smells horrible, the sheets are dirty, as well as the floors. The bathroom is moldy and dirty and the room door is broken. It looks completely different in the pictures. Five minutes after I checked in for my 4 day stay, I decided to check out. I spoke to the front desk person and he said no refunds. I understand I have to pay a part of it, but not all of it. This place is the worse, not safe at all. DO NOT BOOK THERE! I only gave one star, so I can write my review."

"his hotel has virtually no amenities. The reception isn't even a proper front desk—you have to speak to someone through a small window, which feels impersonal and unwelcoming. The rooms are poorly equipped, with no closets, no drawers, and nowhere to hang clothes. There is absolutely no storage space for guests staying more than a night or two. I was traveling with my 80-year-old mother-in-law, and the beds were incredibly high—so high that getting in and out of them was difficult and unsafe. After she nearly fell, I asked the reception staff for a step stool. Three days later, nothing had been done. At that point, I decided we had no choice but to leave the hotel early for safety reasons. Despite checking out six nights before the end of our reservation, the hotel refused to refund the unused nights. This property is not suitable for elderly guests and could also be dangerous for young children. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere."
