Good hotel, excellent front desk staff

Comfortable room, although a little rough around the edges (wall paper coming off, bud ride or 30 minute walk from main square etc) Nice continental breakfast catering to gluten and dairy free. Extremely helpful front desk.

Our Florence Trip

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff, the breakfast staff were very good. The breakfast was filling with lots of choice for a continental breakfast. The only issue was that the air-conditioning wasnt able to be put on cold or below 22 degrees, making the room warm to sleep in. Leaving windows open didnt help because of noise from the traffic whilst trying to sleep.

Our car was in parking inside the hotel gate. Monitored 24/7. Apparently. We went downtown on foot on the second day of our stay, and when we went to leave on day 3 the driver door wouldn't open. After using the physical key and fighting with the lock, we were able to open the door. It was clearly tampered with, and without pointing fingers there is a very short list of possible culprits. The housekeeping staff also uses a strong bleach solution to clean the bathrooms including the tile walls. Unfortunately a pair of black pants that was hanging to dry was stained by the bleach and ruined. We notified the front desk on checkout but they didn't seem to care. The room had no screens so the window we had to open for cool air at night let in mosquitoes that were ferocious. Overall not somewhere we could recommend. The breakfast was on par with the rest of the experience. The redeeming quality was the location, namely the proximity to the German style gastro pub down the block. That place was 12/10, and gave both of the stars in the rating.

Noisy room. I got a room directly behind the reception desk. So I heard phone ringing, guests checking in and out, and all sorts of typical lobby activities. Also, the hotel is close to one of the main rooms so emergency vehicle sirens are also added to the sound track.
