"The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Two bedrooms, each with en-suite suits a family group. Living room and kitchen are a good size with most of what you need (though note there is only a fridge - no freezer and no washing machine). We stayed n December so the cottage although small took a fair time to warm up , underfloor heating downstairs was nice but the fire needed to be on aswell to heat the cottage toa decent temp.
