Ii is in a beautiful settling, calm and peaceful. My room was more like an apartment, with lounge/study, bedroom and bathroom (no kitchen). The mid-century furniture is well preserved,
Uni House is in a great, quiet location. Despite it being an old building it is clean and spacious. Check-in is always easy and the staff are friendly. Fellows bar is also nice for a drink in the afternoon. I would recommend this especially to people who have a car, as it is a bit of a walk into civic.
Dear Karin,
Looks like you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us and that is what we like to hear.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback and we hope to see you next time very soon.
Kind regards,

I stayed 2 nights. There was no air conditioning. The shower was cold. I told the front desk about it the second morning and they said they would check it. Still cold on the second night. It was like staying in an army barracks.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry we did not meet your expectation regarding Air con in the room and the shower, please rest assured the issue will be looked at by our maintenance team to ensure there is no reoccurrence on your next stay. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.
It was what I expected for the price, although they didn’t mention the shared bathroom facilities until the confirmation phone call on the day before I checked in.

A convenient place to stay on the ANU campus. Staff were excellent. I appreciated the beautiful courtyard, the in room fridge, large desk, electric jug and tea/coffee. But the bed was not really comfortable (too old); the TV was super tiny; and the seating was hard. Also the cafe was closed all over the weekend (and it was a considerable walk to other cafes).
We have stayed here twice in the last couple of months. we avoided 'Boffins' this time as it is over-priced & you definitely do not get what you pay for. we ate at 'Fellows' which was very enjoyable & much better than 'Boffins'. The accommodation was clean, spacious & comfortable as usual.
We stay here regularly as it is ideally situated for proximity to activities at ANU as well as close to town and is reasonably priced. Room comfortable and spacious. As always my complaint is always having two single beds rather than a shared bed plus the annoying heavy bathroom door which deliberately swings shut every time one goes in and out of it so filling up the kettle etc is more difficult than it needs to be. Our toilet was difficult to flush plus the tap handle for the shower came off in my hand when I showered. I reported these issues so hopefully they will get fixed. There isn't ever a power point at desk top level for the kettle so we always end up with it sitting down on the carpeted floor. I do think the management could supply an extension cord or improve the set up so that power points are available for use at desk top level. Bending down to floor level is a nuisance.and families with young children would need to be vigilant to prevent scalding injuries from boiling water.
Loved the architecture, the interiors, the wooden furniture - all gave the place a great feel to staying there.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Great food at Boffins!
All in all it was a pleasure to stay there, for the 3rd time!
Many thanks.

Lovely quiet area close to the city centre. Walk to New Acton precinct for restaurants and entertainment. The lake is also nearby. I enjoyed the retro feel, but still clean and well maintained. The courtyard is a pleasant touch

Parking 150 metres from room. Had to take luggage to 3rd floor, no lift. .
Built in 1954 and heritage listed, so no renovations.
When we complained they moved us to ground level. No microwave and Refrigerator did not work, we had to throw out some food.

A peaceful, quiet and clean property set in delightful gardens.
The rooms are very pleasant and comfortable, staff friendly and efficient, and there are good eating places on the property.
Be careful when you book here. If you take a room with no bathroom (which wasn’t made clear on the booking form) don’t get the one next to the shared bathroom. I was awake all night. And then the smoke alarms went off twice around 6am. The worst night’s sleep I’ve had in a hotel.

Conveniently located for people visiting ANU
University house has historical value especially with the Fred Ward furniture. The two room suits are spacious- or at least the sitting room is. The queen size bed is comfortable and with the heating on it is comfortably warm. For some reason though each time to stay there I get a dust allergy. Sneezing and itchy eyes. However it is convenient and good value. The recently renovated offing restaurant has an excellent wine list and contemporary menu - but not inexpensive.
